I doubt they would pay on a contract that no longer exist

The contract may have expired, but the terms of the contract remain valid. If AU is awarded - or claims - a championship, then per the terms of his contract he should receive the bonus outlined in contract. If he doesn't, then he has justifiable legal recourse.

How so, if a contract is expired or nullified, there are no more terms to the contract

That was a good year to land on the long-snapper for an extra point FG to win the game.

People can claim anything they want. I can claim I'm king of England.

If your claim isn't backed by anything, it's worthless.

"We're champs because we deserve it." "We're champs because the system is unfair."

Those sound like the claims of a 5 year old.

I'm not going to waste the time reading all the comments, but suffice it to say that Tuberville has gone full retard. I realize that he may not be a math whiz, but even someone with the IQ of a turnip should be able to understand that when you have the top two teams/players/beauty contestants in the championship event, if the champion is later disqualified, and if someone else is going to be awarded the championship, it's going to be the runner-up.

In 1988 when Ben Johnson had his gold medal taken away, did they give it to the guy who won the bronze medal? Hell no. Carl Lewis got it. Auburn finished with the bronze medal in 2004. So someone send Tuberville a shiny silver medal and a tube of Vagisil.

Tubbs was the MFGOAT. If it wasn't for all of the bull shite around him leaving I would probably still be a partial Auburn fan to this day. God I used to love to watch those teams.

Kenny Irons coming off the Bus in Baton Rouge throwing up the two saying he was about to rush for 200 yards and then doing it is something I will never forget.

And frick USC. Those few teams were overrated as frick. Auburn would have made Matt Leinart cry like a little bitch.

Uh...

Also, its funny to see LSU, UF, and Bama fans make jokes about this when if not for 04 Auburn their teams may not have any titles.

Yeah...because TCU would have jumped us in 2009 to play Texas in the BCS National Championship Game.

No they weren't. I think USC would have beaten them by 2 touchdowns.

You're smoking crack.
USC had 5 games decided by less than 2 touchdowns that year and only one of those opponents was ranked.

Auburn had only 3 games decided by less than 2 touchdowns and all three teams were ranked.

Auburn had 4 players taken in the the first 10 picks of the draft.

Utah was a helluva team too. They had no close games and beat three ranked opponents... by alot.

Claim the title. That's what the other school in Alabama would do.

You don't get it. Tuberville is saying that AU deserves the 2004 title because the NCAA brought down USC that season...but AU already claims the 1957 national title won during a year in which the NCAA brought down Aubbie. AU can't have it both ways--if AU can claim title from '57 when they were suffering NCAA sanctions, then so can USC's '04 squad.

You've really gone downhill since that IB loss.
