'04 was a more complete team. I realize I'm on an island, but '04 is the best AU team I've ever seen in my lifetime. '10 was fun, but '04 was better for me because I knew we were the best. '10 was a hold my breath and hope Cam came through.

My bitterness from 04 will always be that we couldn't prove it on the field. I agree that team was the best and I have no doubt they would have beat USC. Consider the fact that a lot of the guys from both teams are still in the NFL. We got screwed that year and a retroactive reward of the title won't erase that

Both USC and OU didn't play a single FCS team on their schedules. Auburn did.

Also, its funny to see LSU, UF, and Bama fans make jokes about this when if not for 04 Auburn their teams may not have any titles.
04 Auburn was the foundation of SEC dominance and they should be recognized for that more than anything

Auburn played them because Bowling Green backed out at the last minute to play Oklahoma. Quit acting like AU wouldn't have beaten BG just as bad. The schedule had nothing to do with it.
Oklahoma rode their previous year's record to the title game and got exposed for the frauds they were.

Tuberville's constant politicking for Auburn during the 04 season is what made the media take notice of the SEC.
He repeatedly pointed out how SEC teams were so good they beat up on each other and thus created the narrative that put crystal trophies in your case.
You should be more appreciative
