Then y'all can't say anything to Alabama about claiming 1964 and 73.

Wasn't Auburn also ineligible for post season play in '57 due to prior cheating?
I guess its a good thing the AP awarded before the bowls and was based upon human popular opinion, not computer rankings.

I'm going to the game at JH this season. I'm going to yell so loud when we hammer ya'll.

Well that will sure hurt my feelings. Does your mommy know you are up this late?

Where was Auburn ranked in the 93 AP Poll?
And if Auburn's claim to the 04 is SC vacating 2 games, while still finishing with an undefeated record, there is still another team who finished undefeated and, like SC, blew out their opponent in a BCS game.

Where have you seen Auburn "claiming" either of those years? JJ is trolling the hell out of every one of you.

You athletic department's website, or they tried to sneak them in there along with 1983 and some other year in the turn of the century when Auburn had an unbeaten season, tried, until they were shamed into taking that non sense down.

Auburn "recognizes" those two years. Auburn also "recognizes" other years. Auburn "claims" only two NC's.

My only complaint about what he said is the media should have stepped up. AU admin didn't back it and the media shouldn't name a Champion.
AU was a great team that yr and got screwed. Damn shame.

I think one of the things that help to eliminate Auburn that year was Turberville's uncanny ability to blow a lead. Even watching the VT game pissed me off at the time.

If you want to make a case for Auburn, while ignoring the cupcake schedule you had that year, I would focus on tearing down OU, not SC...
Auburn beat 4 top ten teams that year, including 2 wins over Tennessee and a dominant win over a #8 UGA. That was far from a cupcake schedule.
USC beat 2 top 10 teams, including OU. It's very narrow-minded to only judge our schedule based solely on the Citadel game.

I can understand Tubbs being miffed, but hard to be national champs when you don't play in the national championship game.
It was a shitty system, if OU had been left out undefeated they'd have a right to be upset too.
3 worthy teams, 2 spots. Somebody is getting shafted.
Had it happened during or after the SEC run Auburn would have gotten in over OU easily, however back then USC and OU were kind of the "it" teams.

It wouldn't have been fair to leave USC out after how they got screwed the year before.
