Sometimes. Often times not.

Asking Verne if you can return a fg attempt after it's hit the upright, isn't good. Changing your mind 4 times during a replay, if a play was a fumble or not, isn't good. "Ohhh.. they're gonna bring that back. Wait, maybe not? That's clearly going to be overturned. Look at that, goodness. I don't see how that can be overturned. Oh my, I guess that's why they're being paid to officiate and not me."

Exactly.

By far, and it's not even close, what comes out of his mouth is flat out wrong.

Blackledge is far superior.

. Perhaps ESPN will let him call games on the SEC Network.

I can't see him having much to do with ESPN again. Well, Olbermann crossed his burned bridges, maybe Brando can.

Because Danielson is f'ing smart about football. He won't put you to sleep with his knowledge, either..which is what makes him good.

Ive seen Danielson tell the audience exactly what play the offense is going to run for 8 consecutive plays one time. I must have seen him make atleast 10 calls a game were he flat out tells you what play is gonna be run beore the ball is snapped and why. He is like nostradamous with that shite. Dude would make one hell of a defensive coordinator.

poor verno was a lost ball in high weeds most of the time/ Brando just another Lousyanna clown/ I did really enjoy his anguish after that 21-0 curb stomping the Bayou Bungles got in the Natl Champ Game

Danielson is pretty good/ I really don't pay much attention to who announces etc except that the woman on the ESPN 2 3rd rate Game is awful

Blackeledge and Nessler are the best duo in the game IYAM. Like, not even close.

Blackeledge is the best going and I really like Nessler.

I think I'm the only sports fan alive who is relatively ambivalent towards announcers.
When I see the passion & emotion with which some people respond to threads like these ... I don't get it.

Good luck to Brando--wherever he lands.

I think good announcers just add so much more to the game with their insight and if you have to listen to some dumb arse call out every play it gets old.

Try watching noon ACC or Big Ten games with a chick announcers and imagine you watching your team dealing with that shite

I guess.
Just doesn't get under my skin that much.
I'm usually a tad liquored, and am so glad to be watching the Ags, that trumps all.
Certainly, some announcers are better than others. It's a personality thing--we all have our likes/dislikes.
It's the venom I see spewed towards many of em that makes me smh.

Verne and Danielson are the most awful thing to happen to sports since Tim McCarver. I hope Danielson gets hit by a bus.

I dont know how anyone could have such an awful opinion. Danielson fricking calls plays before they happen. He pretty much has no peer.

I mean, they're solid. They're just boring to me. I don't mind them at all and think they're very good, but there's something about have Verne liquored up and Danielson overanalyzing every nuance of every play that just adds another element of excitement.

You can tell they love SEC football also. Especially Danielson. He truly believes in the SEC hype. You can hear it in their voices that they love what they're doing.

I do agree it's about time for Verne to hang it up. He's old. But I wouldn't trade Danielson for anyone.
