I did predict UGA would go 7-5, and I stand by that. I have not said 7-5 at best. I would try to explain to you how those two statements are different, but I fear it's a lost cause.

Well, as per usual the East is big bowl of meh. The West, like most years in the last decade, will feast on the East head-to-head.

And before someone says the West is only better because of Alabama, Auburn and LSU have gone 12-6 and 14-3 against the East since 2010. So yes, Bama is obviously good, but AU and LSU have been no slouches against the East either.

Hell, even aggy has gone 7-3 against the East since expansion

P.S., please don't embarrass yourself by telling me about the great NC State defense. When fans have to build up their opponents to explain glaring deficiencies, it's always a bad sign

We didn't build anything up...everyone else did.

And we didn't have to run the ball. It's becoming more and more clear you didn't watch our game.

Yeah they wouldn't have beaten LSU either, but they would have beaten a handful of SEC teams

I'm sure they would have. Like I said I didn't see the game

But the football fan in me sees a stat line discrepancy like that and I wonder who the better team truly was

The dude threw 64 times.

It was all first half stats anyways. We kept everything in front of us and they had a ton of quick passes. We will be fine on defense but it will cost us a game somewhere.

I'm not overly concerned until I don't see improvement.

SCe fans are being a bit disingenuous. He's right that NC State would probably beat most of the SEC east. What he's not saying is that they'd beat South Carolina 9 out of 10 too, but they probably would. And NC State is not a great football team.

NC State had 99 plays and out young, no depth defense held their offense when it counted

We had a kickoff return for a TD, two turnovers with short field, and people wonder why NC State had more yards and TOP

How lucky is Clemson that NC State missed that chip shot?

No national championship if the kicker doesn't choke

This year is the start of the East building back up. I saw a few good things. USCe looked pretty good. Vandy looked great and I think is going to build on how we killed Ole Miss and UT last year. Florida had a lot of guys out so they can improve. UGA has the personnel and just needs the coach to figure out what to do with it. Definitely not a new low year.

Right now I'd pick Tennessee to win the division

I don't think we win the East. We just don't have depth that you need to win the division. Also our QB's are a huge question mark. I give the edge to UGA right now just because their defense looks nasty and they have a solid running game.

Can anybody, with any confidence, say definitively who the favorite in the East is right now?

I think that was more the OP's point.

Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if SC did win the East.

There just aren't any great teams. There might not be any really good ones.

Georgia has to be the favorite right now. I'd put us at 2nd for now until Tennessee plays.
