Considering how strong the SEC West when Petrino was here makes his accomplishments even that much more notable IMO. It's not easy to win on this side of the division with the pure amount of talent alone. Took Ole Miss to start buying some 5-stars to make some noise again

And there is no proof that we bought any 5 stars...

It seems there is an unwritten rule that if your team is not competing for championships in 3 years, then your coach sucks. Bielema is being given time because of the way his team plays on the field. There is no team on the schedule that I look at and say it is an automatic loss. Yes He has lost some games that he probably should have won, but ultimately his clocks starts this year. If he continues to lose to teams like Toledo in the future, then it may be time to go.

It's because Arky fans have no pride.

Not sitting here saying you should have been 11 or 12 win team, but 10-3 was easily attainable and Bert blew it.
Not to mention Arky was literally two snaps away from finishing 5-7.

Petrino was probably the worst recruiter in the SEC when he was at Arkansas. Bert is a lot better than he is given credit for. I think he wins 9 or maybe even 10 this year.

Petrino recruits what he wants and it is not the same as what everyone else is always after. Kinda like Chip Kelly. Rankings don't indicate whether he got what he needed or not.

Funny how he won 10 and 11 games in year 3 and 4 then.

On the backs of one of the best instate classes ever at Arkansas. Let's not try to act like you actually know the ins and out of our roster at the time. There as going to be a huge drop off in talent when those guys left whether Petrino stayed on as head coach or Nick Saban himself walked through the doors.

Post of this thread.

Petrino signed 7Wrs in 1 class, neglecting other position needs. That's what Bert inherited; a team with serious holes all over that roster.

What do you think are the realistic expectations for this year in terms of wins and losses?

3 year starting senior QB who finally played extremely well and gave you your best chance for success. Not to mention some NFL players sprinkled throughout.

Instead, 8-5. Losses to Toledo and Texas Tech. Not sitting here saying you should have been 11 or 12 win team, but 10-3 was easily attainable and Bert blew it. Not something you generally see with Petrino.

Good luck this year though breaking in a brand new QB.

I don't even know where to begin on this

He won't be there after this year. AU is finally going to get their man.

That argument really doesn't work considering we could have easily won 3 other games: Toledo, A&M and Mississippi State.

We have 4 4* QBS on campus, but the dialogue by these dopes on game week will be about the talent discrepancy at QB between their "blue chippers" and our "2/3 stars".

So are you saying that Arkansas fans will finally see that the problem is the current coach, if they don't win more then 8 games this year? At some point you have to stop blaming a coach who has been gone for years .who won 10+ games his last 2 seasons with Arkansas

You realize that there is a pattern here, right? We give credit to Danny Ford for bringing SEC level talent here after a rough transition I to the league; we give Nutt credit for having some success, and having most of those Arkansas kids committed when Petrino took over; we give Petrino credit for neglecting position after position to sign a bunch of receivers who never contributed, and having HORRIBLE attrition.

Whao there, where did I say you had NFL talent on LSU or Bama's level?

The last 2 years you've had the most players drafted since 2008. that's pretty good in Arkansas' book. A completely mediocre QB for you played like Eli Manning his last season and you still only managed to win 8 games. You guys blame losing a couple guys to injury like Williams and a WR yet your offense actually IMPROVED quite a bit from 2014 to 2015.

We've been really good on one side of the ball the past two years, but I don't see how you could say last year's offense was any better than 2014's defense. Did the "stars align" in 2014 too?

If we could put both together for once than we might have something.

Finally?

He has only been here 3 years. We would be stupid to fire him after 3 years of improvement, regardless of how bad we started.

That being said, if we don't reach 10 wins by year 5 then I believe he needs to go.

Hasn't beaten state or A$M. Lost to tech and Toledo. Boy he's tearing it up. We can't field a O line and we have a shaky at best QB with no experience. Could be a long year
