so i'm assuming if they were offered 600k and turned it down to go to A&M that Aggy ponied up more?

I don't know. I don't know the details of his recruitment.

In the case of Cam, I've drawn my own conclusions based on the facts, but I don't KNOW that either.

By the way, I believe LSU has been paying players for years, just like auburn and Alabama, and just about every other major college program. But I don't KNOW that, it just makes sense.

Umm, ok? Did anyone every say Cecil did not ask for money from MSU?

We only know that Kenny Rogers a former MSU player and MSU discussed money. There was no evidence that Cecil shopped Cam.

Thanks for your input.

THE SYSTEM quote: TigerinMiami & allin2010 - two of AU's worst posters. Conspiracy theorists about all things Bama. Hate Bama more than they love AU. Believe AU is above the fray and, in the case of allin2010, plays insider status only to be proven anything but an insider by the ridiculousness of some of his statements

---------
This just belies your ignorance. You need to pay more attention before speaking out of turn in all honesty. I have said many a time I do not think AU is a clean program either. I said I believed the HBO group probably got paid. I said it was likely Cam did as well back in late 2010, however now I am not sure since we were investigated so long and hard. Fact is you need to pay more attention or keep quiet and speak out of turn less. And the "hate bama more than love AU" is comical, but if you are that desperate to hang your hat on something and that is all you can muster, have at it. No skin off my back and you blind defending of bama and claiming they run a clean program tells me you are just a sheep with little to offer in this conversation.

You should have heard the uproar here in Miami when LSU got PP7 out of Miami. PP7 was originally committed to Miami and Canes people think he got the Trent Richardson hook up with family relocation. Then the pay for play allegations and the guy saying A&M was in play as well and the aksing price was $80k plus some relocation favors.

Canes boosters were actually in an uproar about it (at least as much as they can be) at the time.

All that will result in is the FACTS will show bama/bama boosters were PROVEN to have paid more for a few players than AU did with Ramsey.

Probably best to leave this argument. It is not a winning proposition for you. let me know when Bama has a former coach claim that there was an actual payroll log for the players when he took over. Bowden said that's what he walked into at AU.

You're team is much more clean today than they were in their past. The same is true of Bama. Probably best to leave it at that.

Pure rubbish. Everyone knows Auburn only gave steaks to Eric Ramsey. Auburn doesn't have to pay to get players like Bammer does you stupid gump.

You are wrong, it is an easy "win" for me. Ramsey was alleged to haved received a total of $4,500 in total cash, merchandise (steaks, lol) and illegal benefits. It is also possible he got preferential treatment for a $9k car loan which he was fully lliable for and had to pay back.

Jelks was alleged (by the NCAA) to have received $24,600.

I can provide links if you want.

Please feel free to provide the links, but only if you also provide links where Jelks years later said that it was AU boosters who paid him to say those things about Bama (not saying he didn't get money from Bama, too, but AU boosters were proven to have paid him... Return checks are great evidence)

I'm done with this because it could go on all night. Neither program can with all honesty claim their program is "cleaner" than the other. Both have less than ideal pasts, someone's getting caught and sometimes not.

Jelks did more to ruin both universities than anyone until Paul Finebaum.

Nonsense. bamarag.com, tidefans.com and woollyal.com have it all figured out. AU coaches are handing out cash and being actively involved in money laundering for parents of football players. Coaches who've spent 20 years establishing careers to support their families are risking it all on being "bagmen". If not them, it's a pastor named Chette who's dedicated his life to improving other people's lives. Dirty bastards.

The entire thing was a sad pitiful story. Bama boosters funded and encouraged Ramsey and a bama grad represented him pro bono.

Then an AU attorney bankrolled Jelks and got him to come forward. Unfortunately AU fans turned their backs on the AU attorney, he lost his practice (as other attorneys in the state blacklisted him as well) and eventually tried to kill himself.

Jelks gave him the cancelled checks (totalling $24k), then eventually Jelks produced tapes of himself and Bama assistant coaches paying him and discussing the payments on tape in a separate lawsuit when a bama assistant sued for slander (and lost due to the tapes).

It was an eye for an eye and it was ugly. As I said I think both programs cheat. Yes I think bama does it on a much bigger scale (much) with deeper involvement in certain key areas in the state including the high schools. I think bama is willing to pay more and has more of a win at all costs disposition and ALWAYS has. However, that is just my OPINION and nothing more.

Last I will say this... if I personally had the evidence to bury alabama football with the NCAA, I would probably throw it in the ocean or off my balcony into the intercoastal and let it go. I would never be a witness for the NCAA or get involved. My life is good and college football is entertainment and that is where it begins and ends.

And with that, I am done as well.
