Aggies and Bammers are too scared to discuss our new DC and DL coach.

Yeah, Bammers are really quaking in their boots at the thought of Kevin Steele calling y'alls defense.

Y'all have no WR threat, a RB too scared to run inside, a messy OL, and no QB. I'd be scared too.

#TBT - that time former AU linebacker Kevin Greene got into it with Steele during his time on the Panthers coaching staff.

As a LB coach where Saban and Smart ran the D. Funny thing is Les is turning over the keys to the car to Steele. Bet it comes back late w/a lot of dents and the tank empty.

Ok. Just seems like alot of defensive players that played for Chavis have gone on to be NFL players. I'm just saying.

And he is a good coach, but a good coach doesnt make a good recruiter.

Looking at 247, in his entire time at LSU they give him credit for a total 7 4-star players and 1 5-star player.

The 5-star player was a bust who transferred out after 1 year (Clifton Garret). And actually I do remember this as a guy they let Chavis handle and sent him out to visit him twice...so not the best at identifying talent there.

The 7 4-stars aren't exactly the most awe inspiring list at the moment:

LB Kendell Beckwith - Great player, but keep in mind Chavis had him moved from LB to DL his first year while he started DJ Welter at MLB

DT Frank Herron - 3rd year here, not a starter, likely a rotation guy but hasn't shown anything yet

DT Greg Gilmore - 3rd year here, not a starter, likely a rotation guy but hasn't shown anything yet

DE Deondre Clark - 2nd year here, TBD on this, likely rotation guy

DE Tashawn Bower - 3rd year here, starter at DE, hasn't shown much yet though

S Corey Thompson - 4th year here, backup at S, hasn't ever really shown anything

FB Melvin Jones - Transferred this offseason, was moved to FB before 2014 season from LB where he was miserable at

Kind of silly to use every defensive player he's ever coached. We're talking about players he personally recruited, I thought. We know he's a good coach, his problem was recruiting.

Hopefully for yall mud bugs, this Steele Curtain is better thought out than that wall you put up around the state for recruiting. Saban just dug a pipeline right underneath it.

Someone with way more time on their hands should go find the TD threads from when Steele was hired. If they haven't been erased from history, that is.

DT depth sucks right now but none of the guys who were kicked out or transferred were expected to be starters

This is completely false. The starters are a solid bunch we just don't have depth like normal. We do have a couple freshmen coming in that could turn some heads.
