He's taylored the scheme to the talent and opponents he's facing. He was a part of McBride's traditional 3-4 at Nebraska, Dom Caper's 3-4 zone blitz in Carolina, and Saban's 3-4 over. He ran 4-3 under and some 4-2-5 at Clemson. Like I said, he's not really system guy. He will run multiple at LSU IMO.

There are 6 thank you very much. And our DE are going to be studs too...you watch

But, due to that....watch the nasty, nasty DT haul O is about to bring in. It even scares me

Saban has one, that's one, defensive assistant that's been at Alabama since 2007. Guys leave every year. I don't think he's going to fret much because Steele "knows his system".

Well he obviously prefers 4-3. Coach O prefers 4-3 also.

It's going to be 4-3.

I remember when Cam Cameron was going to turn LSU into a spitting image of the 49ers under Montana

apparently you missed 2013 when we were the only team in SEC history to have a 3000+ yard QB, 2 1000+ yard WRs and a 1000+ yard RB

Hopefully for yall mud bugs, this Steele Curtain is better thought out than that wall you put up around the state for recruiting. Saban just dug a pipeline right underneath it.

he will fret for two reasons...he will miss his recruiting tremendously (which is obviously already paying dividends, we are headed for a #1 class), which means Saban will even have to work harder at it now. And, like I mentioned before...besides Smart, Steele has been around the Saban/Bama D longer than anyone. Can't hurt the Tigahs chances

So what?

His past as both a HC and defensive coordinator is littered with decisions that are indicative of an inherent deficiency in his football knowledge and coaching ability.

Like I've posted about at length before, his decision to play 3-3-5 off quarters all game against West Virginia in the Orange Bowl was the single most inept defensive game plan I can ever personally recall. He literally picked the scheme that to a man every DC worth their salt would tell you to NEVER run against the Air Raid.

It would be like running your dime package against the single-wide wishbone. It's THAT terrible. Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden were laughing at him on the air during the telecast and kept asking over and over why he wasn't changing the game plan.

Steele was a position coach for three seasons, over two different stints, at Alabama. He certainly hasn't been around "longer than anyone".

He's a great recruiter, but Alabama wasn't missing a beat while he was gone from 2009-2012.

Oh so Steele has had bad games where he doesn't make adjustments?

I guess Chavis is a horrible coach for allowing Prescott and Marshall to run on our defense over and over.

Or how Chavis never figured out how to run 2 minute defense?

You're just mad that our upgrade is better than yours.

Steele came down for a summer for an internlike spot and got to know our Defense verrrrry well

So Chavis' unpaid errand bitch equivalent is what has LSU fans so pumped up about their defense?

Well, you can't argue with that really. However, this is where we have to believe that he has learned a great deal since then.

He came to support his son and friend who were working here.

Try again, Angry Aggy.
