You guys are trying so hard to make yourselves believe in Kevin Steele it's funny and sad
We don't have too...with the obscene amount of talent and top 5 coaches at each Defensive position...we have plenty of reason to be excited. Steele just inherited a gold mind. And Coach O and Wilson will just have talent continue to flood in....Rashon Gary is at practice today and is supposedly have a ,very, VERY good visit so far. The OP is right on....Beware SEC.

I agree. Same to you, Ags.

that's nice, but are your QB problems fixed?

You do realize that Saban yanked the play calling duties from him after his first year, right?
Kirby Smart fit Saban's philosophy more than Steele does. Steele is a 4-3 guy.

We'll see. They should be much improved. Brandon Allen from 13-14 would be a realistic comparison.

I remember when Cam Cameron was going to turn LSU into a spitting image of the 49ers under Montana

Steele has ran a lot of both. And that was before he worked at Alabama. He cut his teeth in the 3-4 under Charlie McBride at Nebraska.

Obviously only time will tell that, but Harris did take snaps with the 1's today and looks like he is up to at least 215 pounds. And he looks it. Not a twig anymore and he supposedly built great connections with our WR's while AJ was out for summer 7 on 7's. This AJ arrest could be a blessing in disguise for us.

Out of all the qualified DCs, why Steele? Terrible hire, imo...

The Steele Curtain
That's the gayest fricking thing I've ever read on this site and I'm an Aggie.
You should be banned if for no other reason than this is hilariously disrespectful to the history of football, conjuring the memory of Chuck Noll and Bud Carson for the purposes of making a shitty pun about your new defensive coordinator who has been a below average coach everywhere he has ever been.
Shameful

That doesn't mean he runs 3-4 as a coordinator

This is the guy who once went for two points at the end of the game because he thought his team was down by 2 instead of 1. The same guy who called a run while ahead with 8 seconds left and no TOs for the other team...at which point his RB fumbled and it was returned for the game-winning TD.
THAT is the brilliant mind running the LSU defense.

Several reasons...better recruiter which we really needed even though most don't see it that way. But, we did. Also, Steele and Chavis are best friends, Steele came down for a summer for an internlike spot and got to know our Defense verrrrry well. He is not going to change a thing to this D except get more aggressive on the line due to O coming on board. And, Miles just hired the guy that knows Saban's philosophies inside and out. I can guarantee you Saban was noooooooot happy about this hire

The Defense is finally complete.
1: Steele: a coach who can recruit and actually coach linebackers. (Check)
2: Orgeron: a coach who can recruit and actually coach d-line. (Check)
3: Raymond: Enough Said. (Check)
It will be glorious.
