Does this guy deserve to be in the same conversation as Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Steve Spurrier?

I know many here will discredit Chizik but as a Auburn fan, I dont think we could have asked him to do a better job than he has done so far.

He really has not made any big mistakes...

But we will see in a few years.

Les is absolutely in the upper echelon of the league's coaches. I don't really care for the guy but after seeing him take that shite offense to 11 wins last season I don't think many can argue he obviously does something right.

I bet you was saying this after the UT game.

Maybe so, but in terms of championships he's not on their level yet.

Yes. AU would have to go 4-8 for that to happen.

Do you know how much fapping would occur if this happened? I would have to leave the board. The ATPB zombies would be unbearable.

The fact that he has one of the best staffs in the country and he's a top notch recruiter should keep LSU in the conversation for a while. Maybe we will and maybe we won't...

After watching about 1 minute of action from our scrimmage, I am scared about how bad our D is going to be. I think and hope I am over-reacting.

His record at AU is impressive.

Season 1 at AU - took a lower talented team to an 8-5 record. Did poorly against good SEC teams.

Season 2 at AU - Took a medium talented team (with 2 highly talented players) to the BCS Championship and a 14-0 record.

His recruiting efforts have brought in outstanding recruiting classes.

And how many wins will it take for 2010 to be a successful year for him. I'd say 8.

How about this. Tell me what you think he can do to improve his coaching performance.

I wouldn't put Chizik up there yet… he is obviously a good coach, but not yet proven to be a great one. How good he is really won't be determined until we see what he does without Cam and probably one day without Malzahn… when Malzahn ever decided to leave.

I don't think he deserves to be in that list yet. I also don't think Les deserves to be included in Spurrier and Saban.

Chiz has done a great job in coaching, recruiting and bringing in a good staff but I need to see what happens until 2013.

Yes, Chiz will still have a winning record after this year.

If he wins some more SEC titles he would be in the disucssion. Until then, we're just going to have to wait and see. He has a great record, but until he wins more titles he's not in the discussion with the other two, IMO.

Since he's been at Auburn, he couldn't have possibly been much better. A better question might be whether it's possible for a relativley new head coach to come to the SEC and be in that same league after 2 years.
