You are.

That is a concern but not the defense as a whole.

if Auburn can win 10 games this year I'll give tons of credit to the Chiz

I'd still put Spurrier #1 but that list looks great to me...and put Petrino at #6.

He won 8 in his first year with average players. Why would 10 be so hard to believe with talent?

Edit to remove flame...
With the amount of talent lost...some people say Chizik will get a ton of respect with any amount of wins above 6....

That makes no sense. A coach's prime responsibility is to bring in the best players. Show me an instance where a coach is highly successful without talented players. Saban is a good coach because he get 4* and 5* players, same with any coach in any sport.

quote:Depends on the criteria. I would put Mullen and Chizik on my list ahead of Richt if we are picking the best coaches for today and the next couple of years, but Richt has had a much better career so far than Mullen and a more consistently good career as compared to Chiz.

I would put Petrino ahead of Richt as well.

Richt should be lower. There's a reason he is on the hot seat.
2009: 8-5
2010: 6-7
With the talent UGA brings in every year?

I don't think anyone is expecting 10 wins

The jury is still out. Give him a couple more seasons to develop a record. The stint at Iowa State counts, but I want to see how he does at a real school before I am convinced.
So far, he has done a great job at Auburn. A lot of people chalk that up to his staff and their recruting prowess. Hiring a good staff is what a good coach is supposed to do.
I don't think he is as talented X's and O's guy as Saban or Spurrier, but time will tell. We have all knocked Miles for the last few years, but he keeps winning. In the end, your record defines your success.

I think Miles is one of the two best in the league at the present moment from February to August I just think he's pretty average the rest of the year
