No. I never have and I never will. We directly recruit against you frickers. Why would I want our direct competition to be more successful?

Kilo, I don't think there will be a long term problem with y'all and A&M being accepted. It took South Carolina and Arkansas about ten years for folks to get used to them but now they are part of the fabric of the conference. It is just a matter of creating the habit of thinking about playing your squad. We've all been playing the same teams for generations, it just takes a while.

You know, not to get all non-ranty but I cant help but feel the difference. Our program was hated in the Big 12 universally. We were hated for having the nerve to stand up to the inequality led by Texas. The other schools hated us because we were "rocking the boat" when we decided to feel out our options when it came to conference affiliation. The power schools, OU/Texas, despised Mizzou because we stood up for our selves in direct conflict to their desires for the conference. Its saying something when 4 land grant, AAU institutions walk away from your organization in a couple of years.

I really feel great about this move to the SEC. I understand that some of the old school SEC fans may never accept us but many have been welcoming and there is a sense of respect, class and equality shared between the great institutions of the SEC as well as the fans. Thanks for having us. We are "home" now. This is home and I couldnt imagine it any other way.

This. Hell I still miss UT and Auburn playing annually instead of once in a blue moon. They really shoulda thought about creating UT-UA-AU subdivision within the divisions when the conference was expanded.

For god's sakes.

If Michigan fans ever rooted for Ohio State just because the B1G would make the BCS Title game - like Bama fans did Aubbie...

Now that would be a CFB tragedy...and really, it's not worthy of praise...this conference worship over school pride.

No we root for team first but if we lose we'd rather have a team that beat us and is in our family beat the snot out of the rest of the US than watch the various BIGs put on a show of crappy football.

During conference play I hate the other SEC teams. But for OOC games and bowl games I pull for the conference hard. I come to know the players on the other teams throughout the year and have players I like on each team. I want these players to all do well. I won't ever chant "SEC, SEC, SEC...", but I pull for the SEC and everyone that knows me knows I pull for every SEC team when they're playing a non-SEC team.

Pretty much agree except there are only a few teams I really hate during the season as opposed to just wanting beat them.

Also the whole SEC chant thing annoys the frick out the outsiders which is what I was trying to point out. I've never used it but if I were at a bowl against an OOC team always smack talking the SEC and someone near me started it up -- I'd prolly join in.

What? You're stupid. Auburn winning a national title does zero good for other sec teams. The sec has already been established as the best conference.

ETA: we aren't fighting for a seat at the table anymore. We own the house the table sits in.

i get it. i remember back in '92 (i think) hanging out at a bar, getting ready to watch the bama/miami championship. originally i was gonna pull for miami, but in the hour leading up to the game, i heard nothing but contempt towards bama & the SEC in general. even 'tho i was gonna pull for the canes, i dared to suggest that bama had a solid chance at pulling out the W, if for no other reason than they were more battle-tested in the regular season. i mean, the nerve of me, right? so, after enduring an endless barrage by a bunch of miami booger-eaters, i finally decided "frick it, i hope bama blows the doors off them". which they did. after that game, i realized how little respect the conference got from outsiders....why, i have no idea, because looking at any schedule would've disproved that hogwash. at that point on, i made it a point to show support for the conference for any OOC matchups, because to this day, i still can't get the miami taste out of my mouth....
