If it becomes clear that you were pretty much just making stuff up to make a school look good?

Yea, it would. Especially when your job is owning a recruiting service which caters to crazy people who never forget anything.

Honestly don't know. Just remember the 2009 issues that at least contributed to the Tennessee job.

Can someone give a reason here?
They don't need a logical reason. They just listen to other Bama fans and then all agree that they are right.

If they did it would just be the OSU loss was all his fault or he was why their CBs sucked.

I don't think anybody really believes that Thompson unilaterally made the decision to leave Bama for AU.

Yea, that's it. Nobody ever questioned our LB play the last 2 years. Brilliant.

First the REC go to Aaron Suttles and now Shannon Terry to put out this bogus propaganda. We all know Thompson's dream job was to coach at AU and Gus finally made the call.

This time of year, perception is reality. The last thing Saban wants anyone to think is coaches are being let go for performance and this is not harmany within the program.

How would anyone prove it a lie...short of saban having a presser saying 'no i didn't.' I don't see the risk of posting something after claiming to have known something before. Especially when catering to bama fans who are a huge fanbase.

Just seems like a pretty giant unnecessary and silly risk for a linebacker coach who has literally done this exact same lateral within the SEC move 3 times already.

The basic premise of that post may be correct, but the way that it was written is hilarious.

Thompson's wife left him before his second season in Tennessee. He was fooling around in T-town and the move didn't save their marriage. He's single now. Look out (young) ladies of Auburn, Alabama.

all that personal stuff has nothing to do with his ability to recruit. Should be a help to AU's 2016 class assuming he's still at AU then.

Seriously though, this is the SEC, specifically the SEC West. All of us have 5-6 elite recruiters and sign Top 10 classes. Not sure why anyone would morn losing one of them. We are in a position right now where we can probably afford to lose a few recruiters if we replace them with better technical guys. Other places want to bulk up their recruiting staff. In 4 years we may be back on the other end.

Either way, from an Alabama perspective I am losing no sleep over this. Probably will be pretty happy if Saban hires solid guys. Good pickup for Auburn. Thompson will sign some guys you wouldn't have otherwise.

Buy me out? The REC doesn't buy Lance Thompson out. I buy you out.
