They might find evidence that more plays equals more injuries. But it shouldn't justify a rule change.

Throwing high over the middle results in a lot of injuries. Let's make it a penalty.

Dang. I opened this thread expecting that they overturned the recruiting restrictions that were put in place because of lazy coaches. Misleading thread title is misleading.

Were you going to put Saban and Bert rule at first? Then you realized Bert wouldn't fit on the title?

The rule proposal will not go into effect unless passed March 6 by the Playing Rules Oversight Panel, which will discuss all of the committee's proposed changes. Coaches on either side of the discussion have until March 3 to comment or present any evidence that supports their safety claims.

More plays = More possible injuries. Dont need any numbers to prove that.

Exactly. It's like saying people who drive more aren't more likely to be involved in a traffic accident. Duh

Prepare for lots and lots of "injuries" when the other team is going fast. One kid gets injured and it is link at all to the speed of play and BAM! Lawsuits and rules changes flood in.

Of course it will. Saban will get what he wants.

I disagree with this Saban sway argument. I believe that more people dislike him than like him, especially after this. He's lost a lot of respect by trying to pull a fast one.

The saban rule is the no recruiting in off-season that the NCAA cobbled together because Saban was outworking everyone.

Man, I hope so. For a little rule that would not affect the pace of the game at all and would not result in less plays run, it sure did cause mass panic.

Glad it won't pass. Would just be an excuse other fans would use when Saban continues to win championships at Alabama.

I'm sure personal injury lawyers will do their best to destroy football. The coaches, however, do not need to participate in that.

Saban and Bert are trying to save football. Gus is doing his best to turn it into a track meet.

If what Bert is doing at Arkansas is his attempt to save football, count me out.

I thought the Saban Rule was put into effect about 5 years ago?
