It's a myth that a large number of UF students are from the NE.
Doesn't seem like it was a myth at one point, based on the numbers in this thread. You have to figure that it's only those that are signed up for LinkedIn, so even if it's 1/3 of UF grads in NYC signed up (which is most likely extremely generous), you're looking at 30,000+ UF grads in the NYC area alone.

Me too, but there aren't nearly as many Carolina people here as you would think
I lived in Atlanta for 4 years. Moved to Nashville in July. I think there are probably more Clemson grads than USC grads, but there are a lot of people from the state of South Carolina.

Is SECN on the basic cable channel in DC?
I don't know, but you would find similar or larger numbers for basically any big school in the country.
DC is a melting pot.

I'm not. I don't know any alumni (of real people, not actors) who move to LA. I'm more surprised that Dallas and NYC are so close. Figured Dallas would be quite a bit more than NYC. But Chicago is the easy #1 out of state.

Yea I think Scrooster and his band of merry cocks want to seem more metropolitan by playing up the NYC thing when the numbers don't bear that out at all.
I mean it's just illogical. South Carolina borders Georgia and Atlanta is a huge metropolitan city just a few hours away from Columbia.

Straight from the NYC Gamecock Club website. "NYC Gamecocks is one of the largest and most successful Gamecock groups outside of South Carolina."
One could argue your statement is an attempt at throwing shade away from the Aggies merry band of fairies in San Fran. So sad.

Yep, and a huge metropolitan city that has huge numbers of alumni from across the ACC/SEC spectrum. There is zero chance that South Carolina's largest or 2nd largest out of state alumni group in New York City.

This is not surprising to anyone who knows Alabama/Georgia, but there are more Auburn alums in Metro Atlanta than Metro Birmingham.

your NYC alumni association has about 2300 alumni members LINK
That's a good amount of people, but your Atlanta chapter more than triples that
