LSU's QB's are the same.

What does that have to do with Coker?

LSU beat us TWICE with Jefferson.

They don't always need a good QB....

6. QB Nick Marshall, Auburn

7. QB Rakeem Cato, Marshall

8. QB Keenan Reynolds, Navy

9. RB Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska

10. QB Jacob Coker, Alabama

LINK

there are some legit contenders in this list and people are speaking highly of Coker... is it just Bama love or is there some actual legitimacy to all of this?

Just a comparison. You see threads talking about other teams unproven players and how great they already are.

Well, when I hear words like "elite" and "most physically gifted QB ever at Bama" I expect that he better look like Drew Vick in a practice game.

I said he has elite arm strength, which he does. That won't mean jack shite unless he can correct the other flaws in his game though, which I pointed out. Very few, if any, are declaring Coker to be an outstanding QB from day one. Its mostly just LSU and Auburn fans trying to fit Bama fans into a stereotype that is not the case. We all remember the hype behind Mettsiah and Keil Frazier.

Where is Clint Trickett ? He was actually ahead of Winston (his true Freshman year) and Coker.

Hell if I know but it's just plain stupid to have a guy's name on a Heisman list when he's never even taken a snap as a starter.

I've seen it plenty. It's even worse than ESPN and other places putting Bama's QB (Coker) number 5 in SEC QB rankings, when they don't know one way or another how he will be. I mean "insert Sumlin QB here" will be better and that is almost a given.

Bradford (true freshman) - 3121 pass yards 36 TDs Big 12 2007
Keenum (true sophomore) - 5234 total yards 51 TDs CUSA 2009
Manziel (redshirt freshman) - 5116 total yards 47 TDs SEC 2012

Fournette gets a top 10 ten RB ranking in the SEC and he is at RB which requires at most, a transition of blocking schemes. Coker is put into heisman consideration at the most complicated position of QB, a top 5 SEC QB, and he hasn't even did anything. He hasn't even won the job.

The difference is that GMac didn't play behind a Mario Cristobal coached OL. Wes Neighbors is the co host of The Drive on 97.7 out of Huntsville and he is not happy with Cristobal. Said yesterday that the OL was making 8th grade mistakes last year and they were still doing the same things during the spring. He said this years group has as much raw talent as the 2012 OL but they were no where near as fundamentally sound. This isn't the 1st time he has questioned Cristobal's coaching ability.

Coker very well may end up being a stud when all is said and done, but nothing in that video screams "elite arm strength" to me. Can he make most of the throws? Sure. But I would expect a lot less flutter and a lot more zip out of a quarterback with "elite arm strength".

I have watched all of the Jacob Coker film on Youtube, read everything there is to read about the kid on the internet, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that no one has a frickin clue how he will perform at Alabama.

Ok, are we done here?
