Why on earth would you think that?

Because thats where it was in 2012, additions plus returning experience will show some improvement I think.

Without JFF's magic, Sumlin's pace is gonna result in a lot of quick three and outs. Think Oregon versus Stanford this past year.

This is what I think, as well. Sumlin's system, to my knowledge, thrives on a quick (in terms of decisions, movements, etc.) QB. I'm not sure Allen (or Hill) are going to be near close enough to Johnny's level to have a smooth transition this year.

Some improvement, sure. But you won't jump from 109th to 60th. You can bookmark that.

Probably, however crazy things happen every year.

3-9 Auburn goes to NC the next year
2012 A&M beats #1 Bama on the road with Freshman QB
Mizzou goes from 5-7 to 12-2 etc.

Your D will need to improve by about 75 yards a game...that is roughly one less long drive a game.

They don't have to be.
Who knows, though?
(other than Crimson G, obviously )
Time will tell.

I invite you to look up some tape on our guy Kyle. Kenny was good in HS, but his release was nowhere near as tight as Allens, even though he may be the starter this year im sure he has improved.

Sumlins offense is good-great with a smart QB and deadly with an athletic/smart QB, that's about as easy as I can explain it.

And the defense needs to not give up 1 long drive per game to jump up to #60? shite, didn't know it could be accomplished so easily, maybe higher even!

SEC should be afraid of whoever Sumlin chooses to quarterback the Aggie offense.

Y'all just be patient while he makes his decision, hear?

Of course to put this into perspective….every time A&M takes 4 minutes to score instead of 2 means one less possession in the game per team. This could make the defensive numbers improve.

Of course if the each team has 8 possessions instead of 10 or 11 and the opponent scores on everyone of them it will be difficult to win.

Both Hill and Allen come from running the spread in HS, so it's more a matter of continuing to develop in an offense they already know, rather than learning a new offense.

And Johnny didn't run the offense like anyone else will run it, largely because he very rarely hit his checkdowns, preferring to hold the ball and wait for something to open up downfield, trusting to his escapability to get him out of trouble when the protection broke down.

Let me put it this way: even in 2010, when Case Keenum went down at the beginning of the season, and Sumlin was having to start a 3rd string true freshman at QB, Houston STILL had the #11 yardage offense / #13 scoring offense in the nation. That year, Sumlin relied more on his running game, rushing the ball 410 times vs. 484 passes. With the RBs and OL we have, I'm expecting more of the same to take some of the pressure off the new QB, especially at the beginning of the season.

I'm sorry…let me re-word this so the rant will understand it:

We like it rough, and we like to come from behind. Also, being a bottom suits us.
