Could be their last.

The NCAA Board of Governors on Wednesday took steps to protect participants and spectators from discrimination at NCAA events.

The board’s decision follows the recent actions of legislatures in several states, which have passed laws allowing residents to refuse to provide services to some people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

This might go to show the power of sports. Could lead to some drastic changes in some states if they aren't able to host, have a bowl, etc.

Isn't Mississippi still under the NCAA boycott for the confederate flag? It doesn't apply to baseball, or at least it didn't for us when we had the boycott.

And to the other guy defending the law, just lol

Maybe, I'm not sure. Mississippi isn't exactly a destination bowl state, though

I'm not defending it. But it isn't an anti LGBT law. If you haven't read to the specifics of it then you are just throwing around rumor that isn't true.

I said yesterday the law wasn't needed and was a result of fear mongering but no where in the law does it say you can't be gay or have same-sex marriage. Your ignorant if you think it does.

Mississippi doesn't have a big business community that would stand up against this type of law. If they had major employers apart from federal and state govt jobs, they would never have passed it.

We had a similar push for a similar law last year, but we happen to have 6 Fortune 500s, most of which already had NDOs as company policy. It is bad publicity for the state, bad for business, and so perfect for Mississippi.

You absolutely are. Just read your post.

There is nothing good that will come from denying service to ANYONE for their life choices, no matter what they are. The fact that you can't see that is further testament to how backwards Mississippi is.

But the NCAA can do exactly what you are talking about and it is ok?

The NCAA and everyone agree's that they have the right to not give host sites to MS because they don't agree with the law. Why is that different than a Christian deciding to not make a wedding cake for a gay marriage they don't agree with gay marriage?

I mean at least we're actually trying to look civilized. Mississippi is going backwards. Continue to be the laughing stock of America I guess.

Are you REALLY trying to make this comparison?

If it is so ridiculous then tell me why? Outside of saying that the NCAA is right and MS is wrong? That subjective.

these several states also include Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia. Florida has proposed a bill. It's a pretty big deal right now across the country, not just Mississippi
