Well ... let's see if he is, maybe think about it just a little bit.

Vandy pulls outta The Southeast, as does Duke, amirite?

Stanford had offered Jake Bentley ... he's committed to SC and about to enroll.

They've got a kid on their roster right now, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, he's from Inman, SC.

I see numerous kids on their roster from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, ... 17 kids in all from the Southeast with Georgia having quite a few. LINK

So the guy is a lying sack of shite actually ... but hey, whatever, IDGAF personally.

What he should have said was, "why hold a camp there when out of the 100 or so kids we offer from the South every year we're lucky to sign one or two of them."

Now, he would have been right had he said that ... he would have been honest.

ETA: BTW, I just looked at his 2016 class that has yet to enroll and show-up on the roster I linked above and, lo and behold, almost half of his 2016 class is composed of players from SEC and/or Southern states.

So he is a lying sack of shite.

Look.... People could get in but athletes in the south tend to be very uneducated and wouldn't sniff most universities if it weren't for their athletic ability. Sadly we kind of use them for our entertainment purposes.

For the effort and time it would take to fly the whole team and setup a camp, it wouldn't be worth it to come down here.

We have players who can't read starting throughout each team ha.

Stanford is just a tad better than these two teams.

Vandy and Duke both have plenty of players that Stanford would love to have .... I guarantee you that Stanford/Shaw would like to have its/his pick of the Vandy and Duke rosters.

How many players from each of those states was Stanford recruiting? And who actually got in? Everyone knows this is what he was getting at.

But if you really want to get into the weeds, let's say Stanford held a camp in South Carolina for the twenty best recruits in that state. And let's say USC-East held a camp in California for the twenty best recruits in that state.

What percentage of the CA recruits do you think would qualify for admission to USC-East. What percentage of the SC recruits would qualify for admission to Stanford?

The idea that Stanford has less to gain by holding camps far from CA seems pretty clear.

Don't waste your time. Rational talk and reasoning don't work with us. We southerners tend to get offended by unkind words towards us. We are smart people and we vote for trump.

many of Stanford's football players could not have gotten into Stanford if they were not football players. It's called "special admissions."

what a lot of people don't know is that Stanford doesn't tell anyone their admission requirements. they are private and don't have to.

I know for a fact that neither does Vanderbilt. the admission requirement is just one sentence...."expected to obtain a degree from Vanderbilt University". I personally know several Vandy graduates (jocks) and while they aren't idiots they aren't like the other Vandy grads I know.

Why bring race into it?

When I hear my fellow white people cry about "Well if a WHITE person did it" it usually tells me they have some issues with minorities. Not a good look.

I love debating with the so-called intellectual fricktards from the left coast ... especially when y'all try to argue that your inner city underprivileged disadvantaged youths are somehow intellectually superior to ours.

What a bunch of hypocritical double-standard far left wing progressive socialist bullshite that is oman.

Now, if you want to make the argument that there are far more D1 prospects in California than in SC ... okay, I'll allow that one. It has something to do with population bases does it not?

What state was Harbaugh going to hold his camp in ... was it Florida?

Okay, so let's say this lying sack of baiting shite Shaw at Stanford held his camp in Florida. Do you not believe he could find a dozen or more highly-qualified D1 prospects to offer in the entire state of Florida?

Do not defend the guy ... he was an idiot for saying what he said. A white guy could not have gotten away with it and I hope it comes back to bite him in the arse.

BTW, Michigan and OSU, Northwestern and Purdue, they all claim to be institutions with high academic standards ... yet they are down here blowing donkeys trying to sigh Southern athletes.

And I'll type it again ... I see at least 100 athletes every year offered by Stanford in SC, FL, NC, GA, AL, LA, TN ... so it's not about there not being plenty of kids here who qualify. What this is about is most of our kids are raised better, and with more common sense, than to want to go to school in the liberal progressive socialist communist country that California has become ... so yeah, I guess in that regard, Shaw is wasting his time recruiting here.

Holy frick, that is a lot of words to admit it is a shitload easier to get admitted to USC-East than Stanford and that Stanford wouldn't do any better with camps in the South than it is doing now.

Welp... we are done here.

Scrooster pretty well put the South's thang down. There are too many SEC area players on Stanford's roster right now to make that sort of comment.

Shaw is a decent coach, Stanford is a great school, they have a pretty good football team. That does not mean the South is devoid of talented and smart athletes. We know that because Stanford busts their arse to recruit players from the South despite being in the midst of one of the great hotbeds of recruits in America.

Shaw doth protest too much.

In general I agree but in this case not so much. If anybody cares enough, Shaw will eventually be asked to explain the remark and he'll say "Aw, that was just an off-the-cuff remark that didn't mean anything." And that will be that. If a white coach had said the exact same thing, it would be on CNN right now and the headline would say "White Coach Says Southeast Blacks are Stupid".

You're reading his statement as "protesting"?

No wonder the over-reaction.
