Dabo seems like such a perfect target for Spurrier, it makes me wonder if the whole thing isn't a work.

All I know is it pissed off Clemson fans to no end, and that's fine by me. Here was the front page of TigerNet yesterday.

They're just like their coach -- SEC wannabes who make very easy targets.

Bama fans hating on HBC.

This is the same fanbase that believes it is the best team in the country, even though they are not in the title game and lost to one of the teams playing for the title.

It's because Dabo is a bama grad and they have to pump anything Bama with sunshine and splooge.

Why are there so many people in this thread saying Spurrier hasn't done anything in years? Seriously how old are some of you idiots? Carolina was bad for years. What he has done there is absolutely Remarkable. Winning 11 games a year at a place like South Carolina is incredible. He's the second best coach in the SEC at age 68 and is one of the best coaches of all time. I hope he continues to punk out Dabo and his tader bunch.

Did he really practice that? It wouldn't surprise me, because even when I first saw that a year or two ago, I thought it just seemed a little too rehearsed and scripted, especially when he starts throwing out specific years and stats and stuff like that.

Oh yes ... it was all scripted right down to who got to ask him the question in the end - a taternet blogger who gave him all the answers in advance.

When you listen to it, and go back and read the post on taternet that generated all the controversy before they realized it was Todd Ellis, our play-by-play guy who said it rather than Spurrier, and if you read all the replies in the thread ... Dabo was simply quoting from the thread which had been printed-out and handed to him the day of the rant.

Now, while trying to change his luck following the 5th loss in a row to us this past season ... he's gone back and apologized for that rant and recounted some of his remarks.

Up until that time Spurrier had taken very few jabs at Clemson and Dabo except for when Dabo instigated something ... but since then Spurrier has certainly stepped-up his game versus Clemson and Dabo. He's completely in their heads now.

Agreed, and it's only coming from idiot Bama fans (not you, obviously) who have probably never watched a college football game that didn't feature Alabama playing in it.

What the HBC has done in his career is nothing short of tremendous, and I'd peg him as a top 5 all time SEC head coach (with Bryant, Saban, Neyland and Vaught). He's the winningest coach at two SEC schools and singlehandedly made both relevant in football.

That is seriously pathetic.

I've always disliked Dabo and Clempson, but that just makes me loathe them even more.

No one has said that Spurrier is not a good coach and has done wonders at SC. In my opinion, I just think that it looks bad for him personally to act so silly at his age. He has earned the right to be revered as a good coach and a man of integrity and not some silly clown. This has absolutely nothing to do with being a Bama fan, and liking Dabo, because this is not the only team that he has taken little jabs at, but he's the first one to cry when someone turns it around on him.
I will repeat......Steve Spurrier is a very good coach.

Again, this is the epitome of a run of the mill Bama fan comment.

First off, Spurrier is not a "very good" coach, he's an all time great SEC coach. I say that as someone who hates Florida and has no allegiance whatsoever to USCe.

Acting silly? How? By doing something he's done his entire career and taking shots at an easy target, one that he's been dominating for the half a decade?

Again, I swear that some of you Bama fans know nothing of SEC football history outside of "durrr Bear Bryant!" and "15 National Titles!" but in actuality, Spurrier has been doing this for his entire tenure as a head football coach. He derisively called Mack Brown "Mr. Football" while he was at Duke and Brown was at UNC, he called Georgia's Ray Goff "Ray Goof," he called FSU "Free Shoes University," he took shots at Tennessee for always getting stuck in the Citrus Bowl, he took shots at Peyton Manning for not winning the big one, and a few years ago he called Ohio State "runner-up U" when they lost to Florida in both football and basketball NC games. Now he's taking shots at Dabo, who is an extremely easy target. That's not acting like a child...that's gamesmanship at its finest, and he backs it up by winning. Acting like a child is when Lane Kiffin takes potshots at most of the SEC when he was but nothing but a nepotistic coordinator hire who had done nothing as a head coach at any level to back it up.

Excuse me, but I wouldn't exactly call an Arkansas fan an expert on college football or GREAT coaches. How many have you had? At least Bama has something to judge him by. Trust me, I know quite a bit about the history of SEC football, and in my opinion, Steve Spurrier is still acting silly. Something that he did 20 years ago may have been clever and cute, but not so much now.

derp

Whats the difference between now and 20 years ago? And what the hell does fan allegiance have to do with understanding football? (Other than understand Bama fans are gonna act like assholes because their team was great before most of their fans were even thought of being born)
