Negative recruiting happens everywhere but Dabo (more so his staff) have made some malicious statements about Spurrier. Dabo is an Alabama boy but he deserves everything he gets from Spurrier.

south carolina has been to 19 bowls in their entire history and Spurrier is responsible for 8 of them. They were not a mediocre program before Holtz got there. They were historically awful. Holtz got them to mediocre. Spurrier has gotten them to very, very good.

Cock fans when the old ball coach hangs up his visor would y'all go after Mark Dantonio? He seems like he would be the logical choice and would probably do better than Stevie boy long term. Thoughts?

He'd definitely be on the list. Doing great at Michigan State and an alum from here.

I'd love the hire but if Spurrier stays here through his contract which is the 2017 season I believe then he might be a little too old to start somewhere new.

So you are an idiot. Good to get that out of the way. Kiffin is more like Dabo than Spurrier.

Haha, ok big guy.

Look, no one here but USC fans gives a frick about Dabo. He is irrelevant to this discussion. Your defense of Spurrier being kind of a d-bag at times seems to boil down to "but, but, but, Dabo...." or "Well we used to really suck and now we are competitive." I don't see how either of those excuses justify his at times very little bro demeanor. He has achieved too much in his career to act like that.

With all that said, and as I said before, you guys love it, and that is all that matters if it rallies the fanbase. I'm just giving an unbiased third party perspective as others here have. I'm sorry this subject makes you so emotional that you have to resort to personal attacks. Have a great New Years.

Didn't USC play in the outback bowl last year, and not the Cap1 bowl?

How is Dabo irrelevant to this discussion? He is the head coach at Clemson afterall and Spurrier is taking shots at Clemson.

Lane Kiffin and your opinion are the irrelevant elements in this thread

Big Dogs let the wins and losses tell the story. OBCs sauce is kinda stale.
And Dabo lets his mouth overload his arse at times, but if you have spent any time with him away from football, he is a nice guy.

Talking trash before the UT game bit OBC in the arse this year though.

I have always loved Spurrier but what is his beef with Dabo/Clemson? He seems to bring them up in random places and at random times.

Meh, it's classic OBC, and he did the same things at Florida, always prodding Tennessee, Peyton Manning not winning the big one, Ray Goff, and FSU. Heck, he even beefed with Mack Brown when he was at Duke and Brown was at UNC.

It's part mind game, part brash confidence. Dude's a winner, so I can't blame him.

I feel like I'm having a conversation with the Taliban. It boils down to this: Dabo is irrelevant. USC's past lack of success is irrelevant. When a coach elects to adopt the shtick of a shite talker, he is making the bed he sleeps in. He is knowingly accepting extra scrutiny in a calculated move. When you are doing this and not winning big, even more people than usual will view your rants as childish. That is all.

Talking about how many coaches we've had.

OBC winless against 2 of our last 3 coaches though.

And "Peyton Manning came back for his senior year because he wanted to be Citrus Bowl MVP for the 3rd year in a row."

His name has been tossed around just as much as Gruden's. The MSU just signed coaching extensions, but then again, Spurrier might be around another 4 seasons, so who knows. It will all come down to who is available whenever it happens.
