Tennessee doesn't need OBC to knight for them. If they have a problem with playing Bama every year, then they would make it known. That hasn't happened.

Have you not watched what their previous AD did? Relying on him to be competent, given the evidence available, is lunacy.

College Football is what it is because of rivalry and traditions,

Alabama has established a tradition of playing the easiest SEC schedule with the backing of biased SEC refs.

The two teams have no history together and I'd rather kill this so-called rivalry game in its infancy

agreed...but it's not about yall. It's about keeping games that are rivalries intact, such as alabama/ut auburn/uga. but i can see where runnign away from a rival doesn't bother you.

Move UT to West Arky to East. Those two moves takes care of the two biggest rivalries by ensuring that Arkansas and Bama play their rivals every year.

Who's Arky's rival, UK?

Have you ever heard a Tennessee fan complain about playing Bama every year or advocate doing away with permanent cross-division games?

I sure haven't. It's mainly LSU fans who are afraid of playing UF annually.

Bama fans don't see it that way. They claim it's "tradition"

Well Tenn fans agree with the Bama fans with "how we see it" so maybe that means that's just the way it is?

Heck, that’s just sort of the way it is.

I hated Spurrier with the fire of a thousand suns when we he was curbstomping the conference in the 90s but now that I'm older and have mellowed (as he clearly has) I've really come to appreciate his way of speaking.

UF has gone 21-6 versus the Vols over the past 27 games. That means the Gators were once 2-13 versus UT. That could be the "there was a time" that he was talking about....

If we played you every year from 1979 previous, UF would be begging not to play LSU every year. From expansion until 2001, you guys drubbed us. We played one close game. Can you blame us?

No it's not. I assume you think the last few years of college football have been great. Your primary rivals have been total dogshit during those years except one player in 2010, which caused one of your fans to ruin a school's tradition....that thing you say makes college football what it is.

I have zero interest in watching A&M play South Carolina every year.

Erroneous!!!! Beautiful place, great stadium, great fans! I'm really looking forward to this game. Hoping it's October-ish when the weather can make a good golf trip or Hilton Head and the like most attractive.

Yes, I'd like to go to UF or UT or UGA or whatever more often. But an SC cross-division game is pretty solid. FFS, it could be worse and we could have gotten stuck with Mizzou.

He has a right to say it. He was born there so that makes him a native son plus he basically owns UT so, seeing as how it is his property he is referring to ... he has a right to say it.
