Only teams that should want to keep permanent rivals are Bama UT AU and UGA.
AU and UT should want to drop them anyways because 1)AU would get to play UF more and 2) UT wouldn't have a guaranteed rapefest every year.

I still don't understand why we can't just move UT to the west and move Arky to the East. Everyone's happy.

wasn't an exception, everybody started with 2 permanent cross-division games

And the same reason 5-2-1 failed is the same reason 6-1-1 will fail.

Best part about this game is the butthurt that flows from the rest of the SEC. No matter what people like Spurrier, Miles, or rantards say the game isn't going anywhere.

Bama will agree when Tennessee is good again.

You're wrong. It may get protected in a new scheme, but I guarantee you that the current 6-1-1 model does not survive. Your game may not survive, but it probably will, but it won't be because this model remains.

First time I've been back into this thread, but, keep the Bama-UT and AU-UGa games, and let every other team rotate both cross-divisional opponents.
Everybody gets what they want.

OBC is right, but life ain't fair, so whatever.
And some fan bases like the big games with big rivals even if it means a tougher schedule. Maybe UT fans like taking their arse beating each year in the hopes they might win one or be better in the future. AU fans want Florida back even though it would mean a tougher schedule. That game used to be as big as AU/UGA and the SEC made an exception and let us have two permanent rivals for a decade.
In the last 10 (TEN) seasons
AU is 3-7 vs UGA
UT is 3-7 vs Bama

And let's not forget that when the bye week fiasco was going on Mal Moore ran crying to Mike Slive to fix it but when we complain about an OBVIOUS and EGREGIOUS schedule inequity were the whiners

You'd think both AU & UT would be the one's constantly complaining and lobbying to get out of these rival games.

If there is a god, he will make Bama hire Jay Jacobs.

Bama fans don't see it that way. They claim it's "tradition" when it's really an easy W every year. IMHO

I guess we should we quit playing Arky every year too.

Only if you are a fricking retard would you think this. I love that Bama fans always say this. Explain to me why you would think that would be the case. Then I will hammer you with why NO ONE who is smart would believe that.

I don't care one bit about the format, as long as the game is played every year.

Are they planning on voting again in Destin this summer?

'Cause they've both gotten their asses kicked for the past 10 years?
AU is 3-7 vs UGA
UT is 3-7 vs Bama
If any program has a right to whine about the inequity of these two rivals over the last decade, it's AU & UT. Oddly we haven't heard a damn word from their coaches wanting these games to cease.

What the frick are you talking about? Les and the entire Tiger Rant whine ad nauseum about having to play UF while Bama plays Tennessee.
No matter what Les, Spurrier, or anyone else says, the Tennessee/Bama game is not going anywhere.
It's time for the rest of the league to deal with it.
