Wrong. Texas had only 600k residents ( many of whom were Mexicans) at the outbreak of the war. Almost all other Southern States had a larger population than Texas and yet did not reach the level of troops you are claiming Texas did.
So, you're telling me these numbers are incorrect? CivilWarDatabase
If so, please link me to the correct info

I made straight A's at Clemson in English, and in high school, I was only male who the lesbian English professor gave an A on our term paper that year. She had to go against her man-hating princples to award me an A it was so well written. lol
I hate to be the one to tell you, but you're borderline fricking illiterate.

Actually, Texas gave the Confederacy Gen. Albert Sydney Johnston, who if not killed, might have been victorious at Shiloh.

Yes they did. Although he was actually born in Kentucky. I have been to his monument at Shiloh many times.

I hate each and every one of you with a passion but the acceptance of these Yankee bastard Buckeyes on this site is I get that everybody is glad Bama lost but all you fellow charter members of the south need to stop fraternizing with these big 14 pricks. For the south!!!
Why in the hell would LSU fans cheer for Alabama and Saban to win a national title. Ohio State is not a threat to LSU recruiting, championships, etc. Sheesh not hard to understand. Yes let Bama win more national titles, get more recruits out of Louisiana

See, now that's why y'all lost. Y'all needed more Texans and less southern pansy boys to do the job.

Thank you. I don't want any teams LSU competes with in recruiting(Bama, Auburn, aTm, Miss State, Ole Miss) winning it. I don't care if UGA, SC, UT, etc win it. Don't want any West teams besides LSU winning the title or making it to the playoffs.

If it weren't for brave Tennessee Volunteers there would be no pansy Texas boys. Sad thing is, Davy Crockett died for y'all's asses and now you're giving it right back to the Mexicans. Only two things in Texas........steers and queers.

Texas sent 90,000 men into the Confederate Army and had troops in every major battle.

My kind of study/library. I am second generation native Floridian and on my moms side the Georgia lineage is long.
I get chills when Dixie is played and Im no redneck. Southern hospitality is still practiced but dieing out unfortunately. So many Yankees have moved into the south that the tainted blood was inevitable
BTW a great place to visit (hopefully it did not suffer flooding from Katrina) in New Orleans is the Confederate Museum. It contains more rebel artifacts than any place on earth. I spent many days there until kicked out at closing time in the early 1980s. The dust smell and collections will aggravate your sinuses though.

You sir are obviously a Vanderbilt t-shirt fan and not a student (hopefully). Have you ever heard of General John Bell Hood and his Texas Brigade? The Texas 4th and 5th Infantry fought valiantly at Little Round Top, wedged between the 48th and 4th Alabama. They fought at the Second Battle of Manassis, Gaines Mill, Petersburg, Antietam, and while surrounded and outnumbered was the last defense of Atlanta against that &*&^%$ Sherman. There are other battles but hopefully you get my point. The fight wasn't in our backyard but we traveled all the way to Gettysburg to lend a hand. I stand in the defense of my great great grandfather who was taken prisoner by the aggressors from the north, while he was a member of the Texas Brigade fighting in South Carolina.
Yellow-haired Hood with his wounds and his empty sleeve,
Leading his Texans, a Viking shape of a man,
With the thrust and lack of craft of a berserk sword,
All lion, none of the fox.
When he supersedes
Joe Johnston, he is lost, and his army with him,
But he could lead forlorn hopes with the ghost of Ney.
His bigboned Texans follow him into the mist.
Who follows them?
Stephen Vincent Benet
