Alabama winning it every year is bad for football anyway. Gets too predictable if same program always wins.
Truth. College basketball almost died when UCLA won seven NCs in a row from 1969-1975 inclusive.
I think the SEC's 7-year reign was almost too much for college football in the same sense as the above. The rest of the country seemed to be losing interest.

nah what had happened is Alabama and Auburn brass got the UAB program shut down b/c it would be stealing away in state talent from their programs.

I think the SEC titles kind of obscured fact that SEC isn't nearly as good as as it was 20 years ago. The defense isn't there anymore

yeah for jobs but they going to cool places like Charleston SC or Greenville SC. Not small towns middle of nowhere in Bama. Nothing really wrong with those towns but dont' see why a good recruit would want to spend 4 years of youth in a state so far away from home but not even be near beach or mountains
Why would they stay in the rust belt? Ohio sucks and it's cold. Don't get me wrong, alabama blows, but Ohio is no better.

they got family and friends up there, in theory. They could go somewhere warmer but in bigger area , like UNC or NC State, SC, etc. Why they want to go to Auburn, Tuscalloose (sp check), Oxford etc. You got to think there a
lot more Confederates in those areas too. lol
If I was one of the best high school players in country, I'd be looking to play somewhere near the beach or near the mountain or a cool city of some sort. Not going to Podunk Alabama for 4 years. lol that's just me. :)

Wrong. Texas had only 600k residents ( many of whom were Mexicans) at the outbreak of the war. Almost all other Southern States had a larger population than Texas and yet did not reach the level of troops you are claiming Texas did.

Well, I can't interpret your own line of reasoning for you but there are courses on English even in South Carolina.

Tell John Bell Hood and his Texas Brigade that and Granbury's Texas Brigade in Cleburne's Division that. Texas troops served as the shock troops in Confederate Armies. Texas provided some of the best troops in the ANV and the AOT.

you don't get my sense of humor homey.
I made straight A's at Clemson in English, and in high school, I was only male who the lesbian English professor gave an A on our term paper that year. She had to go against her man-hating princples to award me an A it was so well written. lol

Non Truth...UCLA brought a new level of interest to college basketball ACROSS the country.UCLA pretty much made NCAA BB moving into to the TV era...not even debatable.

Once again, huh? These last 10 years have brought record ratings to CFB across the country and unmatched TV revenues in every big-5 conference.
From the SEC to the ACC to the Pac 10.

The CSA lost the war of Northern Aggression due to the large amounts of soft over rated Texas soldiers sent to fight.
