Tell John Bell Hood and his Texas Brigade that and Granbury's Texas Brigade in Cleburne's Division that. Texas troops served as the shock troops in Confederate Armies. Texas provided some of the best troops in the ANV and the AOT.
John Bell Hood, along with Braxton Bragg, were two of the most reckless Commanders the South had. JBH single handily destroyed the Army of Tennessee at the Battles of Franklin and Nashville. Before the Battle of Nashville he actually dispatched his most able Calvary commander, Nathan Bedford Forrest, to an insignificant role away from the battlefield.
And I am not belittling the contribution of brave Texans. I am merely pointing out that relative to other States the magnitude of fighting force was smaller. Of course the Texans were courageous. Much more so than the average American of today, I dare say.

Texas provided 60-70,000 troops to the Confederate Army. Most of them served in the Southwest.
BTW: I agree with you about Hood and Bragg as Army commanders. Hood was an excellent Brigade and Division commander.

I am in awe of your ability to surprise us every day with new depths of douchiness.
I can at least take solace in the fact that you are an Ole Miss fan, and no amount of bullshite you spew can fill that gaping hole. WAOM. At the end of the day, that's who you are.

You more of a Stonewall Jackson fan? Perhaps Beauregard?

Your ancestors were probably carpet baggers.
Anyways, the majority of you have thrown away the south, letting it remain very misunderstood by the common minded northerner.
Who cares if some new posters show up.
