I agree with this. The question is whether to allow players to freely follow the coach.
Especially in the case of a coach leaving for a bigger job, the small could get ravaged. Not to mention the current players, that would lose their scholarship.

Yep ... it would be a major malfunction. I hate to see the game headed this way.

Basically, they want to kill all the smaller school's football programs

I think it will impact larger schools more. As soon as a guy finds himself down the depth chart or in the doghouse, then he can walk out the door & onto another team in a day.

Elite prospects are going to be transferring the first day of practice if they aren't running with the first team.

often publicly maligned transfer process

There you go. Its only being maligned by the "hot takes" of idiots who can't see past the surface on the issue.

These morons will ruin college football.

It would be terrible to allow completely open transferring with no sitting out a year.

I predicted this shite coming over a year ago during a debate on here about paying players a salary. A bunch of idiots are going to destroy the game of football.

This is great news. It also helps the NCAA in antitrust lawsuits. Anyone who hates this is a socialist.

Doesn't the school they're leaving have to approve them transferring?

We may as well go ahead and open checkbooks now.

This is like the pros now.

The recruiting services will be rating existing players and will make a fortune for their services.

Only way it might work is if they handle it like the SEC did with partial qualifiers in the 90s. A school could only sign two per year.

They'll do whatever Saban says, and we should all abide by it. The Supreme Leader is Wise.

How did the substitution rule work out for Saban.

If this rule is implemented, more than two players from each school will want to transfer every year. Where are these kids going to go to school if a school is limited to taking in only a couple per year? There's a lot of reasons why players are made to sit out a year if they transfer. Many have been listed ITT. This will be a disaster if approved

And this is worse than professional sports. Players can't just sign with a different team whenever they feel like it. They can ride out their contract or request to be traded. They also have agents to advise them. College athletes will have ignorance advising them. It would be a fricking circus

Im all for it. The NCAA says a person has 5 years to play 4 years of college football.

If im a student athlete and I want to play at 4 different universities than thats up to the player. A scholarship is only good for one year so i should be able to play where i want.

The NCAA should protect the student, not the university.
