that's the dumbest shite I've heard of. The most recent dynasty was built on game manager Qbs

I've seen people say wrestled away and deflected. Either way it wasn't as bad as the Austin interception where he over threw a screen pass for a pick 6.

He can start for the next 20 years, but he's not going to be Peyton Manning at the end of it just because of all that experience, ya know?

Probably not, but he is one of only 3 SEC quarterbacks on the Manning Award watch list. Strangely, I didn't notice Auburn's QB on there.

edit: I read 3, but it's actually 4 and still no sign of an Auburn QB.

Not to mention the even if we had Peyton Manning on our team the past few years, it doesn't do you any good if your best receiver is your tight end. This, believe it or not, should be Bielemas best WR corp since he came to Arkansas.

just like AU fans claim they only need marginal improvement on the D to make a title run, the same could be same with Arkansas from the QB department

Who even gives a frick, really. From what I remember, he didn't throw a pick during the season after the end of the MSU game. And I don't think he threw one at all during the spring. It's just practice.

I can think of worse QB woes. Alabama and LSU don't even have a real starter named, and Ole Miss' QB is Chad Kelly, which is worse than not even having one.

when you meet teams like Auburn, A&M, Tennessee you know those teams that score fast, your'e gonna have to have a qb that can make plays.

As much as Arkansas posters want to harp on how improved he is and that's he's a senior, I'm not buying that he'll be any good until I see it. Brandon Allen has been a bad QB to this point, and experience can only improve you so much

I've been trying my damndest to convince myself that BA will end up All-SEC.

They tend to put senior 3 year starters on these preseason lists as a courtesy. Yes, even ones with 52% career completion percentages that have over half as many INTs as they do TDs.

Don't be surprised when JJ is added to that list quickly and Brandon Allen doesn't make the first cut.

Care to compare BA's Heisman odds to Auburn's QB? Jeremy Johnson is 10-1. I seriously doubt anybody bothered to take the time to come up with Allen's astronomical odds, but they did there was no sign of it.

Jeremy Johnson was voted 2nd team preseason All-SEC behind only Dak. Strangely, I didn't notice Brandon Allen on there.

you have no elite WRs, your vaunted rushing attack was 9th in SEC Play last year, you lost your 3 stud Defensive players, But yea, all you need is a game manager at QB

Maybe not. He is one of 24 on the Davey O'Brien watch list. That is the award for the best QB in the nation, if you didn't know. Didn't see your QB on that watch list.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you that his TD/INT ratio for last year was 20/5. And Heisman odds mean very little to me.

Seriously, I've been a bit of a BA skeptic since he was in high school, but he was playing much better at the end of last year. As others have noted, he's also lacked good receivers, so he's had a shitload of good passes dropped. Finally, I think Chaney was an awful QB coach and his playcalling didn't help Allen much, either.

We don't need a playmaker at QB, but we do need an effective passing game. We may very well have all the needed parts to achieve that this year, but we'll have to wait and see.

Pre-bowl game. The Manning Award is given to the best QB in the country post-bowl games. It's not stuck in 1963 like a lot of awards.

Not to mention that Davey O'Brien won't be making any of the picks, unlike the Mannings.

The Heisman is given pre-bowl games.
