Hopefully others will follow your lead. You are one of the people fighting the good fight here on behalf of UAB and I wish you luck. My problem is with those who are just using it for trolling.

We're in agreement that it is a shame the program is gone. I'm extremely sorry for UAB players. I remember after being bounced from the high school playoffs my senior year, knowing it was the last time I'd ever play the game. Cried like a baby. That time comes for everybody eventually, but it's unfair that the Blazers had to hang it up for off-the-field reasons. I don't know what motivated the board. If it wasn't simply because the program was losing money, then that really is a travesty. I'd always wanted Bama to play UAB and never understood why they wouldn't.

Personally, I think its because UA feels it validated another instate program many moons ago by playing it when it was irrelevant and consequently we now have to share instate talent, have been knocked out of championships by this instate rival etc and we are hell bent on making sure we don't make that mistake again.

I really don't see anybody trolling except Bama fans. All I see is legit points why this is wrong and most of it has nothing to do with Bama and everything to do with UAB. But leave it to Bama fans to make it about them...

UAB is a money-pit on the whole system. Twenty-three years of deficits in the program. If the boat don't float, it sinks.

And if money was the issue, why not announce a fund raising campaign? Give an opportunity to raise monies needed. The team was bowl eligible this year and a bowl payout would have been nice. Attendance had doubled from last year

Just seems particular to get the "results" back from some report and immediately without second thought shut down a major function of the school and cause major ramifications.

UAB and UAT are part of the same University system and governed by a Board of Trustees.

What's so hard to understand about that?

But long term projections led them to believe staying competitive in CUSA would cause financial woes.

It is because UAT is a football program with a shitty university attached to it.

They have to have UAB to prop them up as a university. UAB has never wanted to be associated with UAT.

The ignorant Bama fans want to blame AU fans for all their woes, but everyone is starting to see it now.

Not this LSU fan. Only a nutjob would think Alabama had some faux illuminati agenda to kill off UAB's football program. They may may have a plan like that for Auburn, but not fricking UAB.

You can't tell me the Bama athletic program hasn't been swimming in money for the last decade and doesn't have te money to float a little bro program.

Bama is "The Dynasty" and yet can't afford to throw some money to a little bro program?

What Alabama has done to UAB is a travesty and all Bamers should be disgusted by this.

Bama's been floating them $17 mill a yr. that ain't exactly chump change even in the profitable Saban era.

If UAB can pickup their own tab, then by God they can play all the football and march all the band members to their hearts desire.

Well, since the Aubs are so sympathetic to helping UAB football, why didn't they play them instead of Samford? Hell, they could have even played a home-and-home with UAB and they might have even filled up Legion Field. Would have been a big payday for UAB.
