Meh, I think that is more with the fans because Kirby "did not come home" when called. If CMR was to get caught diddling the towel girl and gets ran, I bet Kirby will be high on the list of the people that maters. JMO

I hope you don't put a ton of money on that because I've heard otherwise.

I bet on nothing related to college football. I was just going to edit and add Bobo in if CMR gets ran for a situation like that, which I don't think is ever going to happen. I was just using that as an example.

I really believe WHEN UGA is in the market for a new coach they will be looking for and hire an established head coach, looking to move up to a better conference.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but I don't think we'll see another head coach at UGA for at least a decade and who knows what will happen at that time.

The two biggest things going against Smart right now are:

1. He has never been a Head Coach.
2. The trend the next few years will be to hire Offensive Minded Coaches.

I know there is an element of the bammer PTB, that will not allow bama to hire an assistant coach to replace Saban. No matter who they are.
The Talking Heads are already bring up the idea the kryptonite to Saban/Smarts Defense is the HUNH. With more and more teams switching to Gus's Offense, Smart will have to figure it out before someone will hire him as a big time HC. He could take a lesser HC job this year and prove he can coach offense also. It would be a big risk if he bombs.

Is there a way I can pitch in to make that happen?

The pressure on Richt will be at an all-time high next year. They will be breaking in a new QB. If AU wins the NC, their fans will have seen a school that was lead by two state products, win 2 NC. That will not sit well with the bulldog fans.

It won't be as bad as 2011 pressure.

Auburn winning puts pressure on UGA, but it has nothing to do with players from Ga doing it. Pretty much all UGA fans think Marshall is a crook and that Richt did the right thing cutting him loose.

It is not the circumstances that I'm talking about. First it is AU winning two NC. It is a reminder of how underachieving the UGA Program has been. The fact that Marshall would have spent his entire UGA Career at DB will have the UGA Fans questioning the coaches talent accessment.

Marshall would have never started at QB at UGA. He would have been a horrible scheme fit. He will likely be a DB or WR in the NFL.

Also, UGA did recruit him at QB initially. It was his idea that he should play DB. He would have been damn good at it too.

So yeah, your entire premise is retarded.

Marshall would not be a good QB in the type of offense we run. He's a perfect fit for Malzahn's.

ETA: It's also pretty obvious we were in greater need for DBs than we were QBs.

The kid has an arm and can run, I think he can fit in any system with those two qualities. His QB skills right now are underdeveloped for a Jr, but that is because of coaching. I think next year his passing skills will match his running ability.

The most important quality of a QB in UGA's offense is the ability to mentally handle the position with the complexity of a pro-style attack. So in Marshall's case,
