Top 25 single Season Record from 1956 to present. Not sure why the site uses 56 but I don't mind, really prior to the 60s, who cares. I will post the top 50 career records next but wanted to start with single Season Records first. UGA leads with 6, AU 5, Bama 3

Tre Mason is severely underrated and is hardly mentioned as one of the better RBs in sec history. His career stats have him at 35, he really only got significant playing time 2 season, as his freshman year he had less than 30 carries and 130 yds. With a decent(700yds) freshman year he would be Top 10-15.

The only issue with lists like these is some of the guys had the benefits of their bowl game's counting, some didn't, some played in a 12 game regular season, some didn't. It is hard to compare these across seasons now. It is why I reject the NFL lengthening the season.

If you have time see who is in all of the top 25 for TD's, AVG per Attempt, Total yards in career or season.

I don't want to start a new thread on this, but does anyone remember the Ole Miss running back that got to 1000 yards because after the season they went back and found him an additional 7 yards on game film. It was a statistical moral victory, but I can't remember who the beneficiary of it was. It was since 2000. I remember reading about it. Funny stuff.

Wish it would list yards per carry

Jeremy Hill is far down the list for 2013 performance but he only carried the ball 203 times at a 6.9 yards per carry clip though.

Ok, in this thread iII'll stick with single Season. I mentioned that next would be career records.

Tre Mason is at the top, he had one of the best seasons ever for a RB in 2013. IMHO he was the main reason Au had the season they did in 2013.

its kind of crazy that no one has broken 2,000 yrds. With the move to a possible 15 games, surely it will happen eventually.

The move away from the run game in the South during the '90's is why I think it was not done. If Florida would have tried to with Fred Jackson, he would have done it.

Remember the crazy shootouts the SEC used to have?

I could easily see Chubb or an Alabama RB doing it here. Especially if either team plays a 13th, 14th and possible 15th game.

Ugh DMAC is 2nd in career yards. If he had stayed 4 years, that number would never be touched

No pre-2012 then.

Brad Smith would be #5 on total rushing yards with 4193.

Well thanks dhuck, this is a single Season thread. I mentioned that next would be the career records thread.

I didn't want to combine them and have a discussion about single Season and then career.

Kind of surprised Faulk hasn't made either list.
Would of loved to see what Toe could of done in 2002, if he hadn't gotten injured in th'01 SECCG.
