Maybe year 2 or 3 after he gets a better jump shot but not year one

How about his erratic free throw shooting or his tendancy to charge when there is no lane to drive. What about his transition game which comes and goes or his lack of low post play at crunch time? He disappears at times when the team should be able to count on him down low.

If Simmons won't play aggressive in the friggin' SEC then how is that expected of him at the NBA level? Some you are absolutely drinking the Kool-Aid.

Is he talented? Yes. Is he tough enough? No.

Simmons needs another year in College and needs to stop reading his news-clippings.

This is such a dumb way of thinking. Why in the world would any player that is going to be the number 1 pick come back to college? He is coming back to the SEC so he won't even be playing the best competition in the college basketball. I hear LSU fans say this over and over. What will he learn playing basketball in college that he can't learn playing against the best in the sport and making a million dollars to only focus on basketball.

Exactly. They fail to understand the things he needs to work on are things that you fix on the fly in the NBA. Another year under Johnny Jones won't help him become more NBA ready. Just by shear strength he is more NBA ready than any player in the last 10 years. Things you come back to work on in college are things like getting stronger, footwork, quickness being able to physically play in the NBA.

anchor is dumb.

Ben is 18 years old and is the best player in the SEC by far. People expect too much out of him.

But he probably shouldn't say it right after a loss, and Buddy is a better COLLEGE player. Simmons might be the most talented, but Hield is playing better ball than he is

I don't think its a ridiculous claim in any way on Simmons' part. He can't shoot like Hield can but is better at everything else. His team is much worse and that hurts the perception of Simmons, but if I was picking teams I'd pick him over Hield every time.

I disagree. Don't get me wrong, Simmons is a GREAT player. But he plays soft a lot. He's not aggressive. He doesn't take the game over and he falls flat in clutch situations.

Better coaching will lift him to new levels, as well as better players around him. Right now though, I believe Hield is the best in the land.

How is Hield better than Simmons? Looks like Simmons has better stats, on a worse team, and he's probably much younger, no?

this guy gets it.

There is a reason Simmons is the guarenteed #1 pick in the draft.
