This is sort of a gimme thread. Who wouldn't have been skeptical going into the season? Nobody would have imagined auburn would be this good, this soon. I don't know if that makes people "wrong".

I'll say this, I'd give almost anything to have him as our OC. Hell or our HC.

turn on him like they did during his OC stint

i don't remember this

Got frustrated when he got too cute (surely we're nto the first fanbase to be frustrated with a coaches playcalling), but turned on him? Nah.

We don't celebrate coaches that lose all their sec games and finish 3-9.

I think people confuse "luck" with just taking the whole game to win. The uga play was flat out lucky, probably the luckiest most miraculous play in auburn history (although I was sure glad it happened ). I don't see how you can argue that wasn't luck.

But the bama game, and needing the last minute to beat msu, those weren't luck. I feel like these days anytime there's a lead change in the final 3 minutes of a game people call it lucky.

I think the three plays are:

TAMU Horsecollar
UGA Hail Mary
UA Kick return

I was just stating the three plays he was probably referring to.

I was irate.

I wanted Petrino or Kirby.

I'm an idiot.

This thread should be linked in the 'why does auburn need acceptance thread'. Look at us! Look at us! Shower us with praise!

This would make a hella lot more sense if the thread wasn't filled with Auburn fans eating crow as well.

I was never skeptical about Gus. I've always said that Auburn won the 2010 national championship because of four reasons: Cam Newton, Gus Malzahn, Nick Fairley and a great, veteran offensive line.

He deserves every bit of the credit he is getting.

I don't think anyone saw this Run Of Glory coming, though.

I definitely believe they can win it all. After watching this run, it's hard to NOT see them as a team of destiny. I hope they do it.

Also if you want to call a returner running by the tacklers luck then every return ever was just luck. Plus the Bama game wouldn't have been over even if we didn't return it for the TD.

Auburn executed better. The linemen did not execute proper field goal return coverage. Two of Auburn's touchdowns were gifts: the Nick Marshall touchdown run and Sammie Coates touchdown reception. Both were the result of an Alabama player taking himself out of the play. Auburn also gave Alabama a gift with the 99 yard touchdown. Auburn caught more breaks than Alabama, and that's the bottom line. Auburn made Alabama work hard for 3 of Alabama's touchdowns. Auburn got 3 on plays that Alabama fricked up. I can't fault Auburn for taking advantage of Alabama's various miscues, but I'm not convinced that Auburn was the better team that day or is the better team now.

Then Louis dropping two big catches (one a probable TD and the other putting us on the 10) makes Bama lucky in that game. Mason fumbled. They got lucky again. Whitehead took a bad angle on Cooper on the 99 yard TD catch. They got lucky again.

Both sides left points on the field. I don't see anyone making the argument that Alabama should have ran away with it that day.

If a UGA fan said that, about any game, I'm sure you'd be one of the first to call us crybabies or moral victors or some other nonsense.
