Mo Hasan, a backup QB for the Vanderbilt Commodores in 2018 and 2019, surprised his podcast listeners this week by claiming that an Italian mobster offered him $300,000 to rig football games. In addition, Hasan claims that the mobster revealed a larger scheme involving several players from big-name schools.

Hasan claims the mobster told him Alabama had players involved in the game-rigging scheme.

We're in the den of inequity now boys. There's no going back from here.

quote:

“He said, ‘We regularly talk to guys at your position about fixing games,’” Hasan said in a clip of the episode posted on X. “He named guys in the SEC, who I don’t want to say their names because they’re in the NFL right now … but University of Alabama, I’ll tell you that.”

I did a search, didn't turn up any results on the board.

How exactly is a Vandy backup QB going to fix a game?

Who the heck was Vandy going to throw a game against?

To top it off, this guy only threw 17 passes while in school.

How do we know that it wasn't? How do we know that it wasn't any number of players? Could have been anyone, or any number of athletes.

How do we know that it hasn't happened ... is not happening?

But a backup QB at Vandy? Something doesn't make sense. Especially his claim about knowing of all these other SEC athletes that have partaken.

That makes sense. Not all about point spreads/winners and losers.

"For those of you in my mentions saying the mob doesn’t need to pay off Vandy because we’ve lost a lot - you must not be familiar with prop bets lol," Hasan said.

I think it makes perfect sense. It's one thing to lose, it's another to lose royally.

Random example, our game against Vanderbilt, we were favored -24.5. If the trend is for Vanderbilt to cover, give their guy 300K to go to Oxford and lay big egg.

prop bets

SO many prop bets could be easily manipulated. But not by a guy who more than likely won't even enter the game.

The idea that point spreads, outcomes, and certainly any number of prop bets could be fixed is certainly plausible, but I don't think anyone EVER approached this particular guy.

Are there prop bets for clipboard holders? As we learned from the bama baseball coach and his co conspirator, unusually large bets on things are red flagged. A large vandy prop bet or several mid sized should bring as much suspicion as a mid week bama-lsu baseball game

I'm calling BS on a backup QB being the guy they're going to pay $300K to. Good way to drum up some subscribers to his podcast, though.
