y'all are a great team but lost so many great players from last years team.

The only GREAT players we lost from last year's team were Luke Joeckel and Damontre Moore (both all-americans)

Good players that we lost were Christine Michael (could have been great), Ryan Swope, Uzoma Nwachukwu, Patrick Lewis, Sean Porter, and Jonathan Stewart

Serviceable players we lost from last year's team were Kenric McNeal, Spencer Nealy, Dustin Harris, and Steven Terrell.

Did anyone read the comments from Tahj Boyd about sneaking into the Georgia spring game to scout the Dawgs?

quote:

How dedicated are the Tigers to winning their season opener (vs Georgia)? Their players are doing in-person scouting these days. In April, Boyd, Watkins and linebacker Quandon Christian tried to blend in with the spring game crowd at Georgia's Sanford Stadium. The players wanted to see what they'll face when they open the season against the Bulldogs on Aug. 31. "We were kind of incognito," Boyd told OrangeAndWhite.com. "I had a hat on, some shades -- threw on some red and kept it casual." Of all the teams in the ACC, the Tigers have the schedule that would give them the best shot of being the first team from the league to play for the BCS title since Florida State in the 2000 season. If they win their season opener and their regular-season finale (South Carolina), they'd probably qualify for the SEC East title.

How is this post Spring and the guy who wrote this has no idea what's going on with Bama's OL?

Says Steen may move to LG, that idea has been dead for a while.

Says Austin Shepherd is battling for a Guard spot, he's currently the starting RT.

Speaking of the RT job, he says Leon Brown and Brandon Hill are battling for it. While I think one could say Leon is still in the fight, Hill is likely RSing for sure this season, and Leon will as well if he doesn't win the job. I do think both have more talent than Shep, but Austin has experience on his side.

In our defense, I don't think we belong at #2 either.

I don't either, and I'm pretty confident our week 3 win will put us in our proper place.

We'll have to meet up for drinks after Bama's double digit win.

slice it up however you want but y'all lost much of your starting lineup on D and some big time contributors on O.

Underrated:

4-Ohio State
6-Oregon
13-LSU

don't see how any of these teams are underrated.

Ohio St. lost their biggest defensive leaders.

Oregon lost their coach and much of their best talent from their D and some major contributors on O.

LSU lost pretty much their entire D.

Picking Alabama and A&M as your top two is a fairly smart way of hedging your bets if you are a writer in the business of ranking teams. Both teams have essentially two real games all year - even if they win only one of the two they still may have an inside track on making teh SEC CCG and BCS NCG

Kouandjio is set at left tackle and Kelly is set at center, but the other three spots are open. One probably will go to Steen, who started at right guard last year but could wind up moving to left guard this season. Arie Kouandjio, the older brother of Cyrus, is in the mix for a guard spot along with Austin Shepherd and Chad Lindsay. Juco transfer Leon Brown and freshman Brandon Hill are competing at right tackle.

The only thing correct in that whole blurb is Cyrus Kouandjio will be the LT.

Shouldn't you have been there in the last half-century for that to be a "proper place"?

And Kelly is set at Center. He had time with the first team OL last year when Jones got hurt, he was a deserving first team SEC All Freshman Center, and he had a great Spring.

We lost 2 starters on DL, 2 linebackers, and 1 DB.

That's less than half of the starting defense lost...or are you one of those people who considers Steven Campbell a starter?

Depends on what you're ranking.

I think if A&M played Ohio State A&M would win, but that doesn't mean that based on their path to the BCSNC that Ohio State doesn't have a better chance at playing for a championship.

Arguable the biggest misconception this offseason. No we fricking didn't. We will be fine. We lost more in 2011 than we did in 2012. Bama actually lost more than us.

DE Barkevious Mingo, DE Sam Montgomery, DT Bennie Logan, LB Kevin Minter, FS Eric Reid, CB Tharold Simon, DT Josh Downs

That's the guts of your D and most of the leadership. Pretty significant.
