The only GREAT players we lost from last year's team were Luke Joeckel and Damontre Moore (both all-americans)

Not only was Moore great, but he was your only solid defensive player. Your defense is not going to be very good this year. I have seen most Ag fans admit as much.

Good players that we lost were Christine Michael (could have been great), Ryan Swope, Uzoma Nwachukwu, Patrick Lewis, Sean Porter, and Jonathan Stewart

Swope was great. He was so clutch and was a leader on that team. It also turns out he is elite athletically and not just a white dude possession guy. Michael gave you good RB depth and was very talented.

A&M and Bama lost more starters than LSU yet everyone says LSU is rebuilding.

Can't wait to play Johnny in Death Valley.

Vandy finished last year in the top 20 and is a pre-season top 25 pick this year. I never thought in my 40 years of Vandy fandom this would be possible. What will surprise people is our line play and their size for a Vandy team. Franklin is a miracle worker. Anchor Down.

I can't buy this. Have you seen who they hired at OC? they changed their entire offensive staff.

Bama also actually returns :

Brandon Ivory
Ed Stinson
Jeoffrey Pagan
CJ Mosley
Trey DePriest
Xzavier Dickson
Adrian Hubbard
Denzel Devall
Deion Belue
John Fulton
Geno Smith
HaHa Clinton-Dix
Nick Perry
Vinnie Sunseri

If you want to play it that way, LSU returns:

DE- Jermauria Rasco
DT- Anthony Johnson
DT- Ego Ferguson
DE- Danielle Hunter
DL Depth- Jordan Allen, Justin Maclin, and Quentin Thomas
LB- Kwon Alexander
LB- Lamin Barrow
LB- DJ Welter
LB Depth- Deion Jones, Tahj Jones, Lamar Louis, and Ronnie Feist
CB- Jalen Mills
CB- Jalen Collins
S- Craig Loston
S- Micah Eugene
DB Depth- Corey Thompson and Ronald Martin

All of these players have seen playing time (some significant) in the past couple years. A lot of these guys were also starters at some point due to player injuries or positional rotations.

Now add to that players that were redshirted and a top recruiting class and I think we'll be ok.

Top 1 stacked

The second. 4 losses.

Bama, OM, LSU...... VANDY

But I do think A&M wins the first playoff championship. Think this year will be hiccupps and a soph slump.

Ok, fair enough... So how can LSU be overrated because of how much we lose on defense and Bama not be overrated?

I think LSU is about right to slightly overrated but mostly because I don't see us going through our schedule without speed bumps, not solely because of who we lost... Fair?

Because y'all lost more at crucial positions.

Bama lost:

ILB Nico Johnson
CB Dee Milliner
DE Damion Square
S Robert Lester
NT Jesse Williams

The only key positions that they lost were a CB and a NT. The rest are relatively easy to replace. Nico was already losing snaps, Square is a replaceable type talent, Lester peaked as a soph. plus has Collins or Sunseri behind him.

LSU Lost:

DE Keke Mingo
DT Bennie Logan
DE Sam Montgomery
DE Lavar Edwards
LB Kevin Minter
S Eric Reid
CB Tharold Simon

That's 3 DE's, the best LB, and the top 2 in the secondary.

If you just go by returning starters then A&M is obviously overrated, in my opinion. But I don't think you can do that. "LSU isn't rebuilding, they're reloading." How many times have we heard that (and it was an accurate assesment) and why shouldn't the same apply to A&M? A&M will be fine, sez me. The only question mark for me is the bruisers up front on defense. At every other position I think A&M is better or at worst the same. But we'll see - I may be completely full of shite. That's what makes it fun.

I'm pretty sure Aggies feel the same!

We return more than six. If you're just counting people out there for the first snap, then

-LOL at the Stanford hate. They would wax dat arse of almost all SEC teams. The top 6 could give em a game, but only Bama and A&M could beat them IMO. Shaw doesn't get enough credit out West

You are high off your arse boy. Sure they are physical and well coached but the athletes on the top tier SEC teams are far superior. No doubt about it.
