Wouldnt touch this game.
GT was beating the absolute frick out of UNC last year until Gotsis got hurt and our defense tanked. GT had a lot of run yards that game. Pretty much any team with a semblence of a dynamic run game went up against UNCs D got plenty of rush yards. And GTs Oline was fricking awful last year.
If UGAs Oline can open some lanes then they will get yards and score points and may not pass at all. But if I hear TN and Ark fans Chaney will abandon the run early and try to pasd which would play out of UGAs hands. So watch for that.
On the flipside, UGA wasnt great against the run last year either. Their DLine got pushed around a bit and were vulnerable against the run. From what I understand, UGAs Dline and LBs arr still a little light in the pants. I think UGA will be ok in their backfield.
This could be a quick game. I think both teams run, run and then run some more. I think whoever has the ball last wins honestly.

Let's finish our previous conversation:

quote: mustang: I may not know exactly how it went but I do know Kirby changed his position on transferring a few times with that kid.
Djs: You said the kid wanted to go to Miami, and that is false. Kirby never changed his stance either, so that is also false.

I picked UNC. I have no good logic, reasoning or anything else as to why I picked them. Just a gut feeling that I'm hoping isn't a shart in the works.
Since I picked UNC, it's probably a lock that UGA wins handily.

If UGA can run the ball effectively, control TOP, and keep UNC's offense off the field, they win the game. I do expect UNC's run defense to be improved over last year, but I don't think it's enough to slow down UGA's RB depth.

Defense will have way more depth than last year. Still, Chubb will get his yards. UNC's hope against the run is to bend but don't break and limit the Dawgs to field goals.
Ya'll are placing way too much emphasis on the Baylor game. Baylor's OL was unbelievable and UNC had two interior lineman out with injuries on an already thin DL. Not making excuses but it helps explain the yardage.
3 UNC starters on the D-line are still not practicing, they started prep for us arlier this week. Drennon (WDE) hasn't practiced at all, seems unlikley that he would play. Dalton (DT-3 technique) and Bart (SDE) are out too. Sounds like Bart is the most likely to play, but he and Dalton are both questionable at this point.
The replacement for Drennon, Tyler Powell, is probably a better run defender. He's not as dynamic off the edge, but he plays with better leverage (he's played a lot of DT).
Not sure who will/would replace Dalton. I'd assume Jeremiah Clarke (who's bigger but not nearly as quick) would take over at NT and Nazair Jones would slide down to 3-tech.

LINK /
Mike Greenberg of ESPN’s “Mike & Mike” had some very choice words for Georgia coach Kirby Smart on Wednesday.
Greenberg used the word “disgrace” five times and the phrase “shame on you” twice while looking directly into the camera and blasting Smart for restricting running back (not a guard as Greenberg incorrectly stated) A.J. Turman to transfer to an SEC school or Miami, where former UGA coach Mark Richt is now the head coach.
Turman was granted his release from the school last week before Smart loosened up on some of the restrictions, allowing him to transfer to a school within the state of Florida other than Florida or Miami. He’s also allowed to go to schools outside of the Sunshine State, but not to an SEC school or Georgia Tech.
Smart is on record saying he placed the restrictions “to set a precedent.”
If Turman does decide to transfer to an institution on the restricted list, he’d have to pay his own way in the first year at that school.
His co-host Mike Golic later added, “Kirby Smart, he looks bad in this.”
Ok. Theres my link that that spells it out. Where is yours? And a quote from Kirby saying thats not what happened doesnt count.

Where in your link does it say that Turman wanted to go to Miami as you claimed?
Smart says:
"But he is not being blocked from where he wants to go. So make that perfectly clear. Because he didnt play here and the person who was coaching him here is now there, at Miami. So that has nothing to do with where hes wanting to go. He doesnt want to go to Miami. He's made that perfectly clear to me."
Now Words for Turman himself:
"I talked to Coach Kirby last week. I guess the permission to contact letter, he didn't mean to say just the state of Florida," Turman said. "I guess there was a misunderstanding. He didn't mean for them to write it like that, I guess. We got that fixed. Things changed and things always have a way of working out. Coach Kirby, he got what he wanted, and I got what I wanted. So we both came out with what we wanted. I got my transfer and he got his policy."

Drennon will definitely miss the UGA game (and probably 2 or 3 more). The other two are questionable, although it is extremely difficult to obtain injury updates since Fedora is as tight lipped with injury reports as Bill Belichick.
Unquestionably, this doesn't help UNC's cause but we still have a ton of more bodies (albeit young) on the DL than those who suited up against Baylor.

Is Chubb really truly back 100% or is his start a desperation move because his backups are hurt or true freshmen?

Where did they all of a sudden come from?

I did read the other day that Chizic is intimately familiar with Chaney's Offense, unless Chubb runs wild i'm not sure how well this game is going to play out for UG. I picked unc in my college pickup league but with low confidence, i'm just not sure about unc's new qb and if they will be as dynamic on O this season, especially early.

I picked georgia based on him Chaney being the offensive coordinator. Chub and Sony will be hard to stop especially with Eason slinging the ball.
Posted on 8/26/16 at 1:51 pm to Mud_Till_May
Isn't Sony still out with injury? And Eason still hasn't won the starting job or been especially impressive in camp from what i've read...

Freshmen, I guess, which doesn't bode well against a Pittman-coached OL.
