I can't help but think of when the tar heels shite the bed against a terrible south Carolina team last year.

I'm afraid to go against the dogs but UNC does have chizik on defense and a good team. While Georgia has a new HC and a new starting qb.

I'm torn.

A lot of people really like UNC in this game which I can understand being that Uga has a new coach, QB etc.

I will get some early games wrong as I see how different teams look after a few games. I just think Uga will be more physical and run the ball well enough to allow a new starting QB to not face a lot of heat. Just my thoughts. On the flip side, Uga is going to have talent on defense even if they make mistakes along the way.

Everything at Uga seems new but I think they have better overall talent.

They had Chizik on defense last year and gave 28512155 rushing yards to Baylor in their Bowl Game.

I can see either team winning. I can especially see UNC winning if Georgia comes in and pussy foots around.

But honestly, Georgia should win. I believe Georgia would likely have beaten them last year and we've improved in a number of areas.

1.

a new starting qb

This is far from certain and there are plenty of Georgia media saying that Lambert will start this game and bring Eason on slowly throughout the season.

2. Chubb will be back.

3. Offensive line will be improved greatly.

4. Better WR corp than a year ago.

5. Home field advantage

6. Special teams will be vastly improved.

7. I fullly fully fully expect Smart as a former defensive coordinator to be able to do a 1000% better job than Richt when it comes to special teams and limiting fumbles.

Baylor was playing with their 3rd string QB and still ran for that many yards.

I don't think the results of that game are a good indicator of how their defense is going to perform next Saturday. Teams can change yearly and even week-to-week for that matter. I'm not expecting anywhere close to that kind of offensive output.

UGA may not even be starting a new QB for this game either.

Fake classes win the day for the heels but easy A's in "history of thinking" doesn't translate to the field.

uga chews up the holes like a dried out pig ear.

Sometimes it's the system. Baylor ran up a ton of points last year.

I just can't see UGA losing what is essentially a home opener to UNC. Yes, I know UNC did well later in the season last year but I'm not convinced they've really improved or that it's enough to knock off UGA. I'm also not convinced that UGA will be anything but prepared and very similar to last year's edition which was a solid team against most competition. They have more questions but they still have a lot of key players from last season, plenty of talent, and a deep RB corps. Even if Nick Chubb is only at 75% that's more than enough to tear up UNC, imo.

So you are comparing Baylor's O to UGA's O?

I just had a Leonard's Losers flashback...for the life of me I swear that sounded as if it should have ended with:

"Leonard's Loser: The Tarheels."

They couldn't even beat South Carolina last year.

The only decent team they beat last year was Pitt, who went 8-5. They were largely beneficial of a soft schedule.

UGA wins big.
