In that case, why couldn't LSU just recruit a talented QB to begin with, instead of messing with transfers?

Oh wait. Nevermind ...
You're attempting to troll, but that is the actual issue. And it doesn't have to be LSU vs A&M.

Team A (LSU in this case) is strong but badly needs 1 player. Team B (A&M) has a player that has proven he fits the bill, but is hard-pressed to compete with Team A even with that guy.

So- Team A raids Team B for the player. He starts, Team A does in fact win, and the pathway is there.

Team B can get players, but until and unless they have a breakout season (hard to do continuously replacing 1 yr starters), they will be under siege by the upper echelon teams. B's coach can try to sell the QB that he will bring in a new defensive coach to fix things, but that requires a bunch of players on defense to all do better... or else the QB can move elsewhere where things are in place, and step right into a better spot (for him).

Oh, ok. I thought you were trolling as well. So you were being serious...

I don't think the transfer rules once a player is in the program is really the issue here. Teams still get players to transfer even with the "sit out a year" rule.

This is more about lying to recruits In order to get them on campus to begin with. That false pretense could nullify the LOI

If College Football wants to put all of this transfer issues to rest, they would allow anybody to transfer at any time. The catch would be, these kids go into a pool and are drafted by the rest of the teams. Schools would have to give up next years scholarship in order to sign them. Draft order would be based on record and geographical distance from the players home. Players would be eligible immediately.

Pretty sure all these coaches have a contact clause written into their contracts. Another team, NCAA or NFL must get permission from the AD/HC to talk to them...
Do you realize that these coaches have agents and these agents can talk to anybody/school that they want. It's naïve to think this doesn't happen.

If you want it to stop, make coaches sit out a year if they decide to "transfer" jobs to another FBS school.

I don't agree with that but I do thing that sanctions, bowl bans, loss of scholarships should follow the coach with enough evidence that the coach knew about the issue and did nothing. Boosters are going to boost, but if the coach is aware and does nothing, they shouldn't be able to run away from it.

Well, the kids can just refuse to sign a LoI, apparently: AJC's latest on Smith

Shouldn't even matter if he lied.

Kids should get a transfer if the HC or either coordinator leave and no restrictions on where. Cut off date April 15th

Scholarships should be 4 years on the schools side of it

Limits on scholarships should be 85 and include 1 year of any medical redshirts

You should not be able to ever sign more than 28 scholarships in a year or 100 over the previous 4 years total - thus getting rid of blue/gray shirt shite

If had it do with taking coach another job? No. They should know that coaches come/go (especially when the assts leave for NFL, which has a later hiring process in general).

If had to do with NCAA Sanctions/Bowl Bans/etc, then sure

Too many of these guys don't belong in college anyway.

And the only reason they are there, is, it is their only ticket to the League.

Can you blame college coaches for leaving for NFL the pinnacle of the profession.
NFL is not on any timeline.
I guarantee NFL teams could care less about recruiting when making their hires.
Nature of the business.
It's better to have your coaches coveted at that level than not and it proves your staff knows how to hire the best.
When no one wants your assistants your program is in trouble and it all starts at the top with who is making the hires

But this will give great leverage to the Coaches. They will never vote this in. The rest of your post is solid and should be done imo.

Btw what is the difference between the blue and grey?
