No, but not because he won't make a difference in the NFL. It's just due to the devaluation of running backs and possibly because of injury concerns.

It's amazing he only hurt one ankle. Looks like both ankles got pretty fricked up

I would say that the reigning super bowl champs would disagree with you that the RB spot is devalued. Beast mode was taken 12th overall. I'm cool with him not getting drafted early, just means he will be there when my falcons are up.

So how does a Uga fan invalidate an argument about recent trends? Brings up a running back drafted 7 years ago.

What running back in the last 2 years has been worthy of a first round pick?

Gurley is the only one with first round potential, imo. The rest are second and third round guys right now. Don't see any of them having even a slim shot at being first rounders. Gurley quite possibly could be though.

Gordon and Karlos Williams are physical freaks. Both have to develop hands but even if they don't, will still be considered first round backs. Davis is you prototypical stout power back with hands out of the backfield. He's your Ray Rice, MJD guy. Duke Johnson also fits that mold. I don't see Davis going first round, but 2nd round seems like the exact spot he'd land.

Considering Georgia's recent history with futility, I highly doubt this will be the case. Something tells me he will either get arrested before the beginning of the season or he will suffer another critical injury in the middle of the season.

Georgia just isn't meant to win championships.

If Marcus Lattimore would have never been hurt, he would have been a first rounder.

Don't stress what UGA does, bama will back to being mid pack when saban either dies or jets somewhere else. Enjoy your time in the sun, it doesnt shine forever. But in the mean time no need to be a prick.

You act like Bama's place is historically in the middle. Bama's place historically is at the top of the SEC AND CFB.

93 till saban is what i mean, you will be back to that. Maybe you will get lucky and lane can take over when saban bounces.

Id guess late first round or beginning of second at worst.

After two straight years of no RBs being taken in the first round, will Gurley be selected in the first? He's the only RB with a shot at it, in my opinion. I think he'll definitely grade out as a first round talent, maybe even a top 20 player, but do you think he will go in the first?

Running backs are getting smaller and excell at catching passes out of the backfield as a result of all the spread offenses in college. That said, Gurley is a big power back that can pull away with his speed. IF he can stay healthy he can break the mold and be a first round pick. He needs to prove himself to be a durable back, though. Injury problems will drop his draft stock. Size, speed and style says he COULD go in the first round.

Ban bet? Permanent ban? he will not get arrested. He is a character player, and anybody that does not know this does not know anything about him.

he will suffer another critical injury in the middle of the season

This is possible. As it is with every other player in college football.

RBs have to be pretty special to be guaranteed first round picks these days.

I agree with this. It is tough to be a running back and get picked in the first round in todays game. I chalk that up to spread offenses and backs being smaller, though. Only time will tell.

While the trends with our players can support this, Gurley seems to be the exception. He's never given any indication that he could be arrested. There are guys that you expect it from, and guys you don't. He's one of the ones you don't expect to get arrested along with Conley, Michael Bennett, Ray Drew, etc...

He could but why would that be likely? Are you just making shite up to get a dig in at UGA?

What does this even mean? Are you BamaScoop? Only Bama is worthy of anything? Would you have thought FSU would go undefeated in 2013 a couple years ago? How about Auburn bouncing back from a 3 win season to a national title the next? Statements like these are lazy because no one has any idea what is going to happen in a given season.

Gurley will never make it, he's just a big, slow back and those don't make it in the NFL.

I'm talking about a big back, who is 6ft plus, who has the speed to match the power. Gurley is 6-1, 230+lbs, and can take it to the house. Gurley never had the Oline that Richardson had at bama, Gurley has done more with less. Plus Gurley has amazing hands.

Like I said, i think AP is the last back that has come out that is similar to Gurley, but I would say that Gurley is even more physical than AP, but maybe not as shifty.

That first gif vs tenn, is just a perfect example of Gurleys explosion, speed and power. He has a skill set that not many backs in the NFL has. The only knock, is that he sprained his ankle one time.

Gurley got closed on by Marcus Roberson in one of those gifs. Roberson ran a 4.6... So, I guess you could reasonably say that Gurley runs a 4.85?
