But But But Sumlin is so overpaid at $5 million a year!! That is like one fourth the left over spending cash! How will we ever afford it?!?!

I don't think you understand what overpaid means. Nobody said you couldn't afford it. When you compare Sumlin's salary to others who have accomplished more (way more), then it makes him overpaid. Your school paid on "potential" and it isn't paying off. Go ahead and show me your profit number to argue, but the profit could be higher if you weren't overpaying. By your logic, you should give him a raise since you can afford it. Please do.

I'm an auburn graduate, and your favorite team choked and lost to Auburn. These are actual #facts.

LSU constantly turns a profit and as others have pointed out, is one of a handful of schools that have self sustainable athletic departments.

ETA - LSU's AD gives money BACK to the school as well. From a strictly athletics perspective, it sucks.

UF's AD has given back about $70 mil to the University since 1990 including 6.4M in 2014.

Auburn is so poor we are planning a 150 million renovation of Jordan Hare, a 25 million dollar sports medicine facility, and a 30 million football only complex.

A&M is dropping 485 million on Kyle alone. We're still in the the black by 23 million.

Those figures come from the year Auburn played for the national championship in 2013 and I know Auburn racked up a lot of expenses taking a huge group of people to the BCS championship game in Los Angeles. Something A&M will never have to worry about

I didn't expect Auburn to be so poor with the recent successes they've had in one sport lately.

Why is AU that deep in the hole? I know the Auburn basketball arena is new. I heard AU is an official Olympic training site. So is that where the money went?

Bammers expenses for traveling to the Sugar Bowl last year was almost 3 million dollars if I remember correctly. Auburn's expenses traveling to Los Angeles would probably be double that. That would acciunt for almost half the deficit by itself.

You can also add paying Chizik over a million dollars for his buyout, buying out Tony Barbee, and hiring Bruce Pearl

All those things happened in same year
