correct, unless they've changed over the past 2 years.

That's how MTSU is, who is also in a UAB type situation. Luckily, I don't think UT will be going for blood.

How many of those fans represented paid attendance? They've given away tons of tickets to local schools (certainly a good thing) in recent years. While that is admirable, it doesn't assist in paying the bills and eliminating that $17M operational deficit.
This is like a guy who was spending $5000 a month on credit cards thinking he can continue with his lifestyle because one year he got a part time job that led to his only spending $4500 a month on credit cards.

Kentucky was also rolling with decreased capacity due to construction at Commonwealth.

I thought it was interesting that LSU had higher attendance numbers than Bama.

Reported attendance: 28,355

Get to your point, if you have one.
The point is you don't attend UAB, you don't contribute to the AD, you don't go to games, and I am guessing you don't live in B'ham.
So STFU

Check out FIU's attendance. Third worst in the country and, wait for it, they have an on campus stadium.

eta and I have been to UAB games. I went to a Conference USA school that played them.

Those other 36 programs should consider shutting it down or dropping to the FCS.

My school didn't do anything. I'm sorry the BOT decided to do away with UAB football. That has nothing to do with the University of Alabama. Maybe satellite campuses just aren't meant to support division one football teams.

You tell em!
If they don't like it, no one is forcing them to comment.
I do think TV is going to keep diminishing attendance. It is a lot easier for my old butt to drink bourbon at home by the nice fireplace instead of fighting traffic and the weather to watch a game in person. Now I just need two TVs for my man cave!

MTSU is one of the programs who 10 years ago was in the OVC, then went to the Sunbelt, and now the C-USA. They've been to bowl games. Beat Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl 4-5 years ago IIRC. It's a shame that they're up next when they've had a decent program for what they've had to work with.
