Chizik should win 10 regular season games this year. Inexperience and talent are no longer an excuse for AU. They return almost every player from last years team, they have the talent on board along with depth at every position, and a favorable schedule. No excuse not to win 10 this year.

We have 5 teams ranked ahead of us, Alabama, LSU, Arkie, UGA and Clemson... Plus AM, MSU... That is 7 tough games, I see us going 9-3... Now in 2013 anything less than 10 will be a concern.

The only thing that keeps from buying in GC is that his defenses at Auburn( outside of a good run defense in '10) have sucked. He is a defensive coach. They should be better on def.

So true - Chizik knows defense, but it hasn't shown while he's been AU.

Chizik is simply a one hit wonder and will always be so until he does something relevant without a top 2 player in AU history.

This is an opinion and holds no weight in this discussion. While he did have Cam, NO COACH WINS A BSC TITLE , WITHOUT TALENT. It literally never happened.

"At some point, delusional LSU fans will realize they have one of the top five coaches in the game."

This gentleman has apparently never visited TR.

In my mind this is the year that the rubber really hits the road on Chizik

Mullen too. I think everyone will have a much better grasp on those two after this season.

And Les Miles is an offensive coach and his offenses have sucked for multiple years, yet all I hear from the LSU fans is that it's the OC's fault (Kragthorpe). And Richt is an offensive coach, yet all I hear from all the UGA fans is that Mike Bobo sucks arse.

Now which is it? Is it the HCs responsibility to run his offense/defense or does it fall on the shoulders of the OC/DC.

fricking pick one.

You get Clemson in ATL on the big stage, Chizik should have plenty of time to plan & prepare for that game and beat the shite out of them

You get LSU, Arky, aTm, and UGA at home. Your away games are a piece of cake (MSU/OleMiss/Vandy/Bama). That's a damn good schedule.

You return almost the whole team from last year, the players have SEC experience and depth, you have a QB that's been in the system the whole time Chizik's been there. Things set up pretty nicely for AU this year, IMO.

Miles has won 11 games in 5 of his 7 years as HC at LSU. That is the consistency thing that nobody has seen out of Chiz yet. Why is this so hard for AU fans to understand?

What the hell did that have to do with my post?

Nothing? Ok, cool. Try quoting something that has a reference to what you are saying.

They should beat Clemson, win 2 or 3 of their SEC home games, win 3 of their SEC road games, and win their other 3 OOC games. Anything less than that would be pretty disappointing for them I would think.

Les Miles has had shitty QB's, not shitty offenses.

I don't know what the frick to say abotu Richt, I scratch my head at the talent that man's wasted over the years.

IMO, the overall performace and production is on the shoulders of the HC. Chizik is a defensive coach, and in his tenure as a HC (5-6 years), he hasn't put one single defense on the field that was decent. Did he just forget how to coach defense once he became a HC?

He only beat Kentucky and Ole miss in conference. Not like the wins he had were good.

Rhodes had one winning season 7-6 and now two consecutive losing seasons in a time where the Big 12 is way down. He has done a little better than Chizik but very little.
