no it's not. That's why I hate coaching polls. Franklin might be the best coach in the conference. But no one knows. He's at Vandy. Most people just see that and put him in the bottom. Why? Who is the best coach isn't all about stats and wins. It's also just opinion, and really, none of us know enough about these guys to say. Miles gets top two everytime because he is the coach at LSU. Well if he drops a couple games this year, he might all of a sudden be the dumbest coach in america.

I understand what you're saying.

But when Chiz gets noted as having a losing record at a losing school, its always a bad thing.

But when James Franklin has a losing record at a losing school, somehow that's something that makes him one of the best coaches in the SEC.

I don't get it.

Honestly, Pinkel should be top 3. he gets no where near the talent alot of programs get and he still delivers the goods.

No way you can justify putting Richt above Chizik

I could. Richt leads head to head. Hehas a better career winning percentage. His worst season doesn't approach Chiz's worst season. He's been a more consistent winner.

I probably would have chizik's ring trump all that for one more year until we see more of Chiz's resume without Cam, but I can see the guys case.

Richt went 6-7 in 2010.

Chizik hasn't won less than 8.

Spoken like a true State fan. It isn't purely about wins and stats, but those play a massive role. You also have to look at what "football" people and those who hire think of them. Franklin goes 6-6 this year and he'll get a very good job offer. Mullen? Still waiting on his. I guess most are waiting on his victory against someone other than Ole Miss.

And I get what you're saying but Franklin's teams looked good in almost every game. They didn't lose ten consecutive games. That's the biggest hang up on his losing record. Also, Vandy has never been known for winning. ISUZU had winning records in 3 of 4 years before Chiz.

I know your fishing but Richt has had as much talent as any coach in the SEC for 10 years and he has not done crap with it. Chiz got good talent for one year and went 14-0.

Chizik did something with his talent. Richt has not. Look at what he did last year with the damn schedule and talent he had. No way. No he can't even win a simple bowl game.

Sorry

Chizik > Richt

This is exactly what I am talking about. Chiz sucks in all the coaching polls. Then chiz goes to Auburn and gets the greatest player in history. Boom! He's a good coach now. That's why coaching polls are dumb as shite.

Please try to make more sense. Anyway, I'm not even arguing for Mullen. STFU.

Chizik didn't have "the greatest player in history" in 2009 or 2011.

His teams still won 8 games in both years. In arguably the toughest division in football at those times.

Mark Richt and UGA went 6-7 in 2010 in a very weak SEC East.

No. Chizik got a once in a lifetime type player. He's arguably the best player to ever play at your school. He hasn't done anything without him. Ever. Richt has proven he can win without certain players over the course of 11 years. There have been ups and downs but he's been pretty consistent for the most part.

2 of 4.

Went 7-5 in both 04 and 05, bookended by a 2-10 season and a 4-8 season.

Richt has consistently done the least with the most. Which is why he should not be so high...
