So, if Saban is winning with Shula's players (something Shula never did), imagine what he will do with his players and all these top 5 recruiting classes. Scary isn't it?

Bama fans love to pretend Shula didn't have any talent. The 2008 Bama team was loaded with talent (mostly Shula's). Check the All-SEC selections and NFL draft. Saban coached them and deserves the credit. But he didn't coach a bunch of scrubs to the SECCG.

look. search my post history, i'm not a dick. i just blew up at the constant stupidity and extreme , non-ending Saban obsession that a LOT of the LSU fan-base exudes. you can't possibly tell me you've never responded with anger.

and as far as a Finebaum lemming.. not even hardly. i listen to it... yep. but i think he goes where the money is at. his shenanigans are only humorous because he's NOT slighting Alabama constantly.. but he played QB at Tennessee... there's no way he doesn't still like UT as a team. it's just that money and rankings are his motivators. try living in Tuscaloosa where there is ONE sports radio station. i got nothing else to listen to.

anyway. if i don't like Les Miles as a coach/person, that doesn't mean anything other than that. it's my opinion that he's a douchebag. so what? there are plenty of Alabama fans that seem to think he's ok. get a little bit more of a thick skin! jeesh.

but as far as me directing my whole "Alabama has been beating your arse for a long, long time" it was only relevant to people like him that were using stupid arguments to discredit Saban. call him a dick, call him a work-a-holic... call him whatever you want, but he's a hell of a coach.

It is scary, considering Bama fans have considered Miles a total moron and complete failure for going 11-2 in his first three seasons with Saban's talent. So if Bama goes 11-2 with Saban's talent and wins the SEC...will Bama fans consider that a complete failure like they did for Miles? I mean, if Saban doesn't win every game by 50 points with his talent (something they expected Miles to do), will Bama fans call him a moron and a terrible coach?

no one thinks he's a failure. that's just plainly overstating what you THINK we think.

Great point in an otherwise shitty discussion.

don't be worried about what other people think about your coach if you like him. honestly.

what i don't get is the amount of LSU fans that CARE about what Bama fans (or other fans) think about Miles... WHO CARES?! we're not the ones constantly starting threads about how Miles sucks blah blah blha. it's ALWAYS threads about Saban. and that's why i got into this thread... the topic is so so so old... why there are new threads about Saban so often blows my mind.

if you like Miles, GOOD! don't worry about what other folks think. stop obsessing over Saban.

but it's NOT a great point. no one thinks Miles is a failure.

look, bottom line... UA was a completely and utterly different program before Saban got here. so it goes to show WHY we believe in his product. if Miles had done this here, we'd have said that about Miles. it's at LEAST understandable logic (maybe only ONE angle, but fair logic) to think that Miles didn't accomplish as much as Saban has because Miles didn't turn the program around himself. he took an already successful program and kept it up. Saban has turned 2 college programs that were both in -really- bad ways, all the way around in a matter of nearly NO time to BCS national contention.

Is it true that Gundy is winning now but he couldn't win with Miles players?

What's that all about?

Are the hat's days are numbered.?

let's break this down...

quote:

. i do think Miles is a "doofus."

a "doofus" that took your team to OT last year. face it, that "doofus" outcoached Saban.

quote:

i think he fits the LSU mold PERFECTLY.

same with Saban and Bama. Arrogance hand in hand.

quote:

douchebag looking hat

I guess Saban's butt-cutt is too cool

quote:

can't coach X's and O's very well

his record says otherwise

quote:

drops the F'bomb at public events

and Saban compared losing to ULM to Pearl Harbor and 911.

You got some selective memory and it doesn't surprise me.

catching someone in the heat of the moment after a loss and putting him on the spot on live tv is hardly getting too drunk to remember that you're in front of 3+ thousand people and using language that even our liberal media thinks is too harsh for prime-time tv.

You can't speak for your whole idiot fanbase. I'll start an Alabama-LSU flame thread, and we'll see just how many of your fans honestly think Les is a moron.

It's not obsessive when Bama fans openly flame whenever the opportunity presents itself, it's observant. You are on an LSU site, not the other way around.

Ehh...I just find it entertaining. Miles goes 11-2 three seasons in a row and is a moron. Saban goes 12-2 one season and is a great coach. To be fair though, a lot of LSU fans feel the same way unfortunatley.
