LSU already know what that feels like!

Actually, I expect the committee to echo the last BCS poll unless there is an injury to a key player or players.

Again incorrect as of now LSU does not have to win the conference and had They not lost to Florida and there only loss was to Bama we likely could have seen each other again. BCS establishes one versus two or as far as you want to carry the ranking regardless.of conference. Rankings were determined on multiple number of factors instead of a few people with agendas. Had They kept the BCS rankings to determine rankings you could have had multiple team's.from a conference because they are truly the best four or eight. This committee can take the best teams from each conference which is crap. The winner of the big east or acc or big ten is typically gonna get drilled by their "equivalent sec team"

This can only be properly understood if we recall Saban's mindset regarding strength of conference. He once said some conference champions wouldn't finish 4th in ours (can't find the link, sorry). Basically, he would have no problem with 3 or 4 SEC teams in the new playoff.

Saban is promoting the SEC and our teams that will soon be judged against the rest. Those of you that are too stupid (LSU fans) will make this about Alabama.

The SEC doesn't need to be promoted. The name promotes itself. I, as an LSU fan, get tired of us comparing ourselves to Bama when something doesn't go our way, it's childish.

But I think every coach in the SEC has an agenda, to promote the well-being of their team. That's obvious. Saban completely side-stepped the question. Do I blame him? Not really, it's not his business to get wrapped up in the politics of scheduling. Although he does have a powerful voice in the matter, coaches should not be the ultimate say so. The ADs should be the voice of the programs.

In all honesty, yeah, the schedule is unfair to us. No one can argue against that. Is there anything going to be done about it? Absolutely not. It's all politics, nothin gonna change from this.

Saban: "I think that teams that play a weak schedule and an up-tempo offense are a danger to the future of our sport.

Is that REALLY what we want college football to be?"

He'll figure it out like everyone else will have to. But it's a bit humorous that this is what sticks in his craw.

Saban's right-football becomes a crap shoot, unless you got JFF. His coming out points are 7 and 11. JFF can make a hard 4 at will

Does anyone honestly think this will happen?

It won't. Coach Saban's remarks I alluded to in earlier post was about him calling it as he sees it...and borne out on the field. Take this year. Would 3 or 4 of UA/A&M/LSU/SCar/UF/UGA be in playoff? No. But Coach Saban would argue they should. ND not even being in the same universe as UA bears this out.

When he speaks of strength of schedule, he's not talking about OOC like the rest of the country does. He's saying simply playing an SEC conference schedule is stronger than any big OOC matchups other schools have.

imo

No because They are appointing a committee to determine seeding instead of a system that has worked.marvelously with the input of hundreds from different view points all carrying equal weight. This committee is going to screw the sec every chance it gets

^^this^^

4 team playoff, no problem. How difficult can it be to get AP, FWAA and Coaches to have a post Championship Saturday poll...say on Tuesday, with their lists. Combine the lists and you have your top 4. Nearly 200 opinions from every region, every conference area. Instead it comes down to a few Bubba's.

Don't get me wrong, frick Bama, but the BCS was as good a system as there could be. It wasn't perfect but it was about as perfect as anything was going to get.

Sadly, we wouldn't even have this playoff bullshite if Saban hadn't thrown a hissy fit to get in the big game in 2012.

Exactly. Less than 2 years ago, he thought the team with a harder schedule and actually won their conference wasn't the most deserving.
All I read was "I'm a hypocrite"

ETA: I think if they don't make conference title a requisite(which makes sense for such a small playoff) they should keep the BCS rankings. Re-add SOS and only use that to pick the 4 teams. The current plan I think will be worse.

Well, that sped up the process...but it was coming anyway.
