Saban was asked for his thoughts about who should serve on the selection committee. His answer was broader.

“Anytime you do a subjective evaluation of who should be in the playoff, there’s going to be a lot of debate as to whether that was done correctly,” Saban said. “Some of the parts of the old system that we had were very, very good.

“I don’t think there’s enough weight put on the quality of your schedule and the opponents that you play, which in our league is very, very important, because we had six teams in the top 10 last year at the end of the season. We play each other, and that has a huge impact on the quality of team you have, regardless of how many games you lose. There are things like that that I think we can do better.”

Alabama has a weak schedule, IIRC.

Let me clarify, the weakest in the SEC.

Read: The SEC's on another level and not only should the SEC champion be guaranteed a spot, but 2nd best SEC team should get a bid too.

Which is why the way we determine rankings does not need to change. This new system is going to be horrible. They will be sure to stack the deck against sec team's. An for this that complain about the sec schedule, take a look at schedule rankings before running off at the mouth. TT y'all sucking isn't helping the argument either

Saban is promoting the SEC and our teams that will soon be judged against the rest. Those of you that are too stupid (LSU fans) will make this about Alabama.

There is nothing wrong with the way the BCS is determining rankings now. All we wanted was to give more team chance rather than the top two.

Granted UGA and Bama have benefitted lately. But I'm thinking he meant ANY SEC schedule trumps even a relatively hard ACC (or other wimp conference) schedule.

ETA: without saying so and causing all hell to be released.

Is he for or against winning your conference to be included this year, or has he changed again to benefit his position?

The dialogue will be interesting. I can't wait to see how teams outside of our conference build their schedules.

which would make his position the opposite of the Bama/Ok State discussion in 2011

FWIW I'm not blaming him... his job is to be an advocate for his program
