Maybe the barn can show the rest of the nation how to shutdown the Clemson team.

And I haven't seen any Auburn fans that are retards like the OP claiming we know how to shut down the spread. Our best chance, like Bama, would be to outscore them and limit the damage Watson does.

Yes exactly and Kenny Trill DOES belong in that offense and got shut out.

So your example of one QB on a team with zero run game (from last season, no less) if how you back that up?

Alabama beat the best spread team in the nation with the best QB in the country last night. I think it is fair to say that Saban has figured it out.

NO. Watson and the Tigers put up 40 points and over 500 yards on Saban. You guys won because of 2 amazing special teams plays and because Kiffin found a mismatch in OJ Howard. Your defense didn't figure out anything last night.

Well looks like there are more ways to beat the spread than with DEFENSE. And that's exactly what Saban did - he utilized multiple tools at his disposal to conquer teh best spread team and the best QB in the country.

OP your an idiot Saban conquered jack crap. Clemson's special teams choked on 2 big plays. The 4 plays to Howard helped Bama win. Clemson moved the ball up and down the field on ya'll and stuffed Henry except for that one run in the 1st quarter.

Bama's D started getting to the qb more in the second half.
Because Saban/Smart finally started putting in the smaller defensive package...Rashan Evans played great and got pressue, Tim Williams played great, Pettway, Foster, Harrison were getting pressure as part of the smaller sized D package in the second half.

Take out 5-6 plays and Clemson would have won 35-10.
We all know Bama won but don't act ya'll were incredible! Ohio State would have beat them last night and Ole Miss would have won again with the defense ya'll played.

Win a title on a couple big plays isn't conquering. Winning every game by 40+ would be conquering.

In reference to the OP's statement of conquering the spread- NO ya'll gave up 41 he didn't conquer the spread.

Seems to me that jangalang was implying that the ONLY reason Bama won was Clemson being beat up. I was simply saying that perhaps the "barn" can show the rest of us how its done.

This whole thing is misguided.

This is just my opinion, but college football is shifting to more offense friendly philosophies.

Alabama had one of the best defenses I have ever seen, and they still gave up 40 points.

You are going to need offense to counter offense.

BamaScoop, if you ever get the opportunity, you should kill yourself.

Or stop posting here forever. You suck.

By the same token, take out 5-6 Clemson plays and Clemson doesn't break 20. Take out 2 plays and ole miss doesn't win the FIRST time.

Every team that has beat us has had a special QB.

2010 LSU Jordan Jefferson (with support from Jared Lee) and 2011 LSU used Jordan Jefferson to beat Bama. Nothing but barely serviceable SEC QBs there.

I know that's almost ancient history.

yeah by stealing LSU's faster lighter dual DL rotation scheme. Kudo's to him. If it works he does it.

I think you guys need to learn what an idiom like 'toying with' actually means. It implies that he wasn't really trying. Last I checked he was trying pretty hard to win the game.

(yes he slowed up to a jog just as he was about to step out of bounds on a couple 3rd down conversions, just like any QB would do...he knows the defender isn't going to hit him out of bounds)

Right.

This just in:
A&M is conquering opposing teams' run offenses.

If Bama did not play good D they might have scored a lot more, and probably would have had any of your teams been out there.

That QB makes that team go... without Watson they get killed. Without that kid Clemson is a three loss team in the SEC. He made some big time throws, just perfect, because the coverage was pretty tight. He is quick as a waterbug and very fast, extremely difficult to hem up.For awhile it was a flag football game, everyone go deep and he takes off.

And yet the Bama D got enough stops to win the game. They did not play a bad game, sometimes the other guy just plays well. And yet, in spite of all of those yards and flash, Clemson goes home with nothing.
