I'm glad someone on here has a realistic take on the situation. I'm not gonna say he will be bad, but I'm also not gonna say he will be a world beater just because he has the measurables. Talent doesn't always tranistion to the playing field, all LSU fans should know that after watching Russel Sheppard play for 4 years. We should just wait and see how it plays out.

What kind of QB is Coker?

Good ole, southern, god-fearing, stay-in-the-pocket type QB, if you know what I mean. The type who only takes off to run with a purpose when the lord tells him to.

Like i said previously. The dude lost his job to a true freshman before the season even started. I would keep some kind of perspective here

I love that perspective...lets not forget the TF was Jameis Winston who just won the Heisman and BCS NC.

You seem to be forgetting

If bama's Oline plays well he will only need to hand the ball off and manage the game... It all depends on the line.

The heisman is a joke. The heisman is no longer a barometer of how good a player is, LSU made it to the bcsnc with Jordan fricking Jefferson mainly bc of how good the players were around him. No difference here.

By that logic, FSU should have won it all in 2012 too

It would be hypocritical for barners to overly criticize a team for starting a QB who arrives after spring...

...that being said, your brash optimism seems a little misplaced for a guy whose entire career stats are 250 yards, 0 TD, and 1 INT.

He could be good but if I were a Bammer I'd be worried that my coaches were unable to cultivate a successor for McCarron.

I'm not gonna argue that Cokessiah is great or anything, but your argument looks pretty dumb considering what that freshman accomplished. Cmon dude.

I would be worried that guy, after being in a system for three years loses his starting job to a redshirt freshman before the season even begins. I know Winston is better than most but something just ain't right there. That's all I'm sayin.

You are right, that is so much worse than a guy who played on defense for an SEC East team, but no snaps at QB, no attempts, no completions

So much worse

If Coker is good as expected, this offense will be unstoppable. We already know our defense will be nasty. Could be the greatest team Saban has ever put together.

You mean the guy that still holds the State of Ga HS Passing TD record? That guy? The guy who just won the SEC? That guy?

Like I told TTs when he was arguing with me that Coker couldn't do exactly what Nick Marshall did (come in Summer and earn the starting job) by beating out Jeremy Johnson
There's a difference in the two...

Nick Marshall had to beat out another quarterback that arrived just about the same time. Both were new to the system (actually 3, counting Jonathan Wallace), and one was a freshman. Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace had no chance winning the competition, which is why Nick Marshall ended up #1 and Jeremy Johnson #2.

Jacob Coker is new, and will have to beat out two guys that have been in the system for years. Even though I would group Blake Sims in the Jonathan Wallace category as far as talent, he has still been in the system. Cooper Bateman is the wildcard for me. He had talent out of high school and looked the best during the Spring Game.

295 yards, 1 pass TD, 1 rush TD, 1 INT. Just to be completely accurate.

Did he not get about 3100 passing yards and 18 tds?

No you don't. He stares down his recievers and looks timid out there.

Sean White will pass him this year.
You're really jumping to ridiculous conclusions here.
